I've got their 412P - the fde is decent... though sorta difficult for me to say since I've got zero rotary wing time lol How's the 222? Is there an autopilot?

What about the frames?

Can you guys let me know if there's a functional A/P?

I've got the Nemeth A109E and it's really wonky - it's difficult to fly coordinated. And any tiny correction to the collective equals a massive VS increase or decrease.

I'm always on the lookout for a fast chopper... this one seems to go about 140...

Im embarrised - OK i only have 2.5 hours logged on a A109 but that was easy to start - Im having trouble lifting this without losing RPM. Has anyone else got off the ground manually yet?

Ah - found the prob - to do with my throttle setting on duel throttle joystick!

i addressed the spot view at hover control, euroastar350 and his team suggested this

View distance is easily fixed...

1. Download RADItor @ http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=RADItor
2. open the Bell 222's exterior MDL (Bell_222B_VIP_Ext.MDL)
3. click Read
4. set the radius to 8 meters (this is what I set it to)
5. Click write

Start FSX and the viewpoint should be fixed. Same fix has to be applied to the EMS MDL file (Bell_222B_EMS_Ext.MDL) if you want that one fixed.

This is just brilliant addon - well done Cera.

Has anyone managed to trim for foward flight - my arm is beginning to hurt. I cant find any reference in the manual.

I agree.
The urge to forward flight is not particularly strong.
The flight behavior I do not find beautiful.
But the exterior model is excellent.

I use HELITRIM - a simple gauge-set to add. With that, you can trim your heli and it is great to fly without forward moving the Joystick all the Time (I use it for all my helo's).

Hello :salute:

I meet a problem this the bell 222 of Acera, I going to try this problem but my English is poor.
In fact if I choose one bell 222, I select one airport and after I launched my FSX I use the key's combinaison: Shift+1 and passed my copter in "cold and dark mode", after I follow the check-list and I can start my two motors and I can take-off without problems.

So here the problem that I meet, after flying with the Bell 222, landing and shut off all the systems as the check-list give me the instructions.
I save my situation because I want fly from this situation saved in many hours, after this save I close my FSX and when I launch my situation saved, I follow one more time again the ckeck-list, I start the motor N°1, at this step everything is OK.
But when I start the motor N°2 at this moment the motor N°1 shut off alone, I can re-check procedure but impossible to successful to start my two motors.
So I use the key's combinaison: Shift+1 and I choose the mode: "Ready To Fly" but with this mode I cannot start my two motors.

I have one idea but I not sure, for me this Bell 222 don't like to start motors after one situation saved.
I created other situations saved but each time I meet the same problem, impossible to start these 2 motors.

Please can you inform me if from one situation saved you can start these two motors because with me it's impossible and of course I follow the check-list and after many tests if I choose any bell 222 from the list of rotorcraft and one airfield, I put in cold & dark my copter here I can start my two motors, I meet this problem just if I use one situation saved...

Please do you can put your Bell 222 in Cold & Dark situation and after created one situation saved, closed your FSX, launch again your FSX and loaded your situation saved and try to start these two motors, can you tell me if you meet the same problem as me ?
Is it a little bug ?

A great thank's in advance, best regards. Skull.

Well I bought it. Yeah, it looks great, no doubt. I'm a little miffed about the airspeed. I can't get it over 120 kias with trq in the yellow arc near sea level, with standard temp. I'm pretty sure it should cruise at 135/140 high speed cruise. At this point I've basically got another Bell 412P. I was looking forward to the extra 20 kts of speed. Blade slap...yeah annoys me, but it's probably just cause I don't have all the fancy controls that the rotary guys have - I'll probably just delete the sound file.

Can anyone help with the airspeed?

Skull - I'll give that a try and see if it happens to me.

Can anyone help with the airspeed?

Jordan Moore over at Hovercontrol commented he would like to tweak the FDE a bit, for his own taste.
In the past he has been willing to share such tweaks.
No release date on that revised FDE however, as he has quite a full plate at home right now, but keep checking HC.

How is the startup procedure? Easy or very realistic?

You can start it either way.
All of the switches work, throttles roll, etc to do a VC start up, (for what is possible within the limitations of FSX) and there is a 'Ready To Fly' button on the Animation Control popup by using "Shift+1" for a quick start..

Jordan Moore has posted over at Hovercontrol a tweaked FDE for the 222

CeraSim 222 flight dynamics update
Adjustments to the .cfg and .air file for the CeraSim 222 to address some aspects of the flight dynamics.
Slightly higher speeds, adjusted tail rotor authority, pitch tendencies, control fluidity, and more.
This update does not change any aircraft systems, only flight dynamics.
- Jordan Moore

Also on the same page, "Nightsta1ker" has posted an excellent FDE update for the Nemeth payware MD500 Defender, (he has real world time in type).

MD 500 FDE Update No. 2
2nd update to the 500D, this time with improved rotor RPM: faster spool-up, more realistic autorotation behavior, can accomplish zero airspeed autorotation!, more powerful, faster: cruises at 60-75% torque, 125 knots, increased pedal authority. Enjoy!
nightsta1ker

You can find these tweaked FDE's on the link provided below.
I recommend getting both if you own copies.

http://www.hovercontrol.com/cgi-bin/ifolio/imageFolio.cgi?direct=FSX_Helicopter_Configs (http://www.hovercontrol.com/cgi-bin/ifolio/imageFolio.cgi?direct=FSX_Helicopter_Configs)

Actually, Jordan has done yet another update to the FDE.
It bleeds off speed better and has a more realistic decent rate.
Anyone who downloaded the FDE from the link I gave earlier should just re-download the file, and install the latest version.
It has just been updated.

Anyone downloading it now will have the latest version.

Jeansy, both of those look excellent! Thanks VERY much for doing them!

In other news, my USCG livery is officially up at Aussiex, and my French Navy livery is currently awaiting approval.

Side note: I really would rather have no votes rather than have someone giving my USCG livery one out of five stars as it is currently on Aussiex. I guess you can't please everyone. Not looking for a lot of acknowledgment, but at the same time, having a 1/5 star repaint on there doesn't really look good for me either.
:kilroy:

I few basic ideas down for more liveries from me, now to decide what to do first! :)

Hello Sean TK,

I have downloaded and instaled your wonderful French Navy texture for the Bell 222. I like your art work snd I give it a five star mark (even if I do not note if my vote was taken into account on the site). The helicopter is a great model and your art work give me a skin that I was looking for. So, thank yoou very much for sharing this texture with us.

i addressed the spot view at hover control, euroastar350 and his team suggested this

View distance is easily fixed...

1. Download RADItor @ http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=RADItor
2. open the Bell 222's exterior MDL (Bell_222B_VIP_Ext.MDL)
3. click Read
4. set the radius to 8 meters (this is what I set it to)
5. Click write

Start FSX and the viewpoint should be fixed. Same fix has to be applied to the EMS MDL file (Bell_222B_EMS_Ext.MDL) if you want that one fixed.

Hello,

This tool is available for FS2004?

Thank you!

(Cera_Bell222B_FSX_v1.5.exe 155.365 Ko) Hello,

I write this message because I meet a problem with the Bell 222, I possess the version 1.5 (Cera_Bell222B_FSX_v1.5.exe 155.365 Ko) of this addon and when I use the pop-up window (Shift+1) for put in Cold & Dark my Bell 222 all seems OK.
But when I start the motor N°1 and I turn my throttle I can see the arrow of the gauge of the Motor N°1 up to 100%.
But with this same gauge the arrow of the RPM rotor up or move just a little. After have starting my two motors the rotor don't turn normaly and when I watch the arrow of the RPM of the rotor up to 10 or 20%...
Please anybody can inform me if you too you meet the same problem that me ?

For the moment it's the most important problem that I found with this addon...

A great thank's in advance for your help, best regards, Olivier.

Just wanted to see if anyone else encountered this. On approach to Niagara Falls for a sightseeing tour (at about 1500 ft and 90 kts), I saved my flight. As I continued, I decided to make an approach and landing at one of the small islands atop the falls. As I approached the intended island to land, I hit an invisible obstruction which cause a crash of the aircraft. When the flight reset to my saved approach point, the helicopter systems and engines were off and rotors not turning. Apparently the reset also reset the aircraft back to a cold pre-starting state. Due to low altitude, and rotors not turning, autoration was out of the question, so I conveniently hit the Y panic key and slewed the aircraft to a higher altitude thinking that I could try restarting the engines. I called up the Shift 1 key and selected Ready to Fly, but the aircraft did not respond. All systems remained off and rotors were still locked. Needless to say, I immediately bailed out! Any one else try this?

Thanks

I haven't tried this myself, but I believe that this addon has some special code involved that allows more realistic flight dynamics, namely...autorotations (though I haven't tried that either haha), so I bet that trying to start in mid-air like that is messing the code up and causing the problems. As always, I could be completely and utterly wrong on this too!

In other news, I am completely out of repaint ideas, other than for a tribute livery for a band that I enjoy that has a new album coming out on October 11th. Still trying to figure out how to go about doing that one, but other than that, any ideas on liveries (that aren't extreme)?

By only uploading to Megaupload, you are severely limiting the audience who gets to enjoy your repaints. Additionally, anybody that could stumble upon this thread in future months will likely be met with dead links.
