Hi all,

I'm an old CFS2 player (Netwings) that strayed away to FS9, then X :icon_eek: I've been lured back by the screen shots of UncleTgt's new ocean textures and am wondering where to start. I have Rumflabby's mesh and coastlines archived on a disc and my modded CFS2 is also archived (5-6 years ago?). I'm a little bewildered to know where to start. Any suggestions? I still think CFS2 is an amazing sim considering when it was released. MS really got that one right.

Cheers,
Todd

Snurdley,

First off, welcome back! There have been a few newbies around here lately, so your question can be answered by linking you to another thread for right now.

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?56338-new-to-CFS2-reccomended-downloads

There's also a PTO installation guide to explain how it all fits together...

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/page.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=15272

And when you run into the one (perhaps two) broken links in the thread, you can find the files in question here, especially in his SkyDrive section:

Oh, and not to throw in a shameless plug, but we've worked wonders in Europe and the Mediterranean as well. (Check out the Taranto beta testing thread...hehe)

Snurdley, welcome to the basement.
I'd start with an off the disk install and refresh my memory of what it was like when it first came out. Maybe have another go at the stock campaigns. Given that we now have terra bytes of disk space on our PC's these days. I'd then make a duplicate of the install and maybe separate out the stock scenery so that it can be deactivated easily.

By keeping addon scenery in a separate folder system and making back ups of "scenery.cfg" You can build "installs" to reflect your interests. WW1, Battle of Britain, Vietnam. how about if I could change the colour of the sky46040

Rami, thanks, that's just what I was looking for.

Simonu, great ideas, thanks for the input.
