Has anybody downloaded and tested the new 2011 Concorde by Libardo Guzman available here?
http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=C2011.zip&x=10&y=12

A great plane, dispite the download size! Much better than the old version!
Still, I have some issues with it, and couldn't find any other threads on this new version. (Groundhandling, contact points etc..).

Well if it's a freeware Concorde you're after with the demise of the Project Mach 2 Concorde (FS France) this is the best there is! Loads of schemes and a full interior. The shape is still a bit odd, but definatly worth some hanger space.

Kind regards

John

PS the old Project Mach 2 is here Concorde FS9 Download (http://www.bluesteelfs.com/downloads/Concorde_2k4.exe) (will start immediately)
PPS the sstsim Concorde for FS9 is the best by far http://www.sstsim.com/

I have this version too. It is a big download but still nice for freeware. has alot of
different liveries to go with it. I have the payware version too. "Concorde Professional" If you can't afford the Payware version this is just as close.

I don't want to give the wrong impression, I am very happy with this freeware model!
I installed a new soundpack (half the size as the original and sounds better), shockwave lighting, now with 3D landing and taxi lights, a new afterburner effect and a few little tweaks in the cfg.
I was just wondering whether somebody has made any alterations before?
Would like the AB's to activate at 95% throttle, not at 50% as it is,
correct the ground steering,
reduce the drag on the flap (nose) settings etc...
Just minor things to make it even more enjoyable! :-)

I'm downloading the file now, but with SimV's gosh-awful speed cap, it'll be a while. If the AB control is in XML, I'll see if I can find the percentage and change that. Each flap section should have a drag scalar line which can be reduced a little at a time until it feels right. I also found this site (http://www.concordesst.com/gear.html) that states the nose steering should be 60° each way.

Thanks Tom!

I shall dig into the cfg file a bit deeper, (only did superficial stuff), see what is possible.
The link provides great information!
Nice of you to be looking into this model, it's a great alternative to the payware products and well worth downloading!
Looking forward to your opinion...

Cheers, Stuart

Stuart,
I made a video to show my FDEs for Concorde2. Perhaps you would like to watch it for inspiration. I had a set (handy) for it, but lost hardrive earlier this year, so it might be gone.

I am still 'grieveing' so it pains me to go looking for files when they might not be there. But, I will look. The final version of my FDEs usually deserve, and get, a video make of them. But there are several FDE versions that come before that-not 'final'-so what I find might not be the best.

(Hope you don't mind the 'Cheesy' music-hehe)
Here is the FSX version of same model (tweaked).

I found the file that contains the code for the AB - GAUGES/KO_F16_FX/F16_AB_THROGGLE.xml

The gauge is programmed to light the burner effect at 94% thottle and 85% N2. Unless there's something in the .air file that puts a curve on the throttle, I don't know why it would be lighting at only half throttle.

Edit: A quick peek into the air file doesn't show any table that would cause the AB to light early, but there's still a lot that I don't know in there...

Cheers Chuck,

What a coincidence! I just watched these videos on Youtube yesterday, whilst researching 'real' Concorde takeoffs and sounds.
I couldn't see any takeoffs with reheat, where as this will not get off the ground without.

Tom,

As I said above, I changed the afterburner fx and textures, deleted the first four lines in the light section to make space for the missing landing lights.
Still, Im using the same xml gauge and added the missing lines to the panel cfg.

gauge101=KO_F16_FX!F16_AB_PANEL, 154,373,48,16
gauge102=KO_F16_FX!F16_AB_THROGGLE, 126,370,20,20

I also can't get my head around the air file, even with hex editor.

Even so, I'm quite happy with this download, these are only minor issues annoying me.
Still working on a sound package though!
Nigel gave me some great ideas with his fantastic F-4 sounds....

Regards,

Stuart

I really like this plane! I did notice the overactive afterburner, and also I seem to have to push the yoke forward to get the nose wheel down on landing. I've not had to do that with other planes. But, overall a great plane.
