May somebody please do a freeware or donationware He-111 for FSX? I know that there is one from Alphasim, but I heard that alot of people are unhappy with the gauges. I understand if it's inconvinient and you don't have time. Just wondering... :mixedsmi:

Thank you,
Walter :jump:

Wasn't the Alphasim?Virtavia aircraft done for FSX?

The AlphaSim Heinkel is a few years old now, but still looks pretty good. Originally built for FS9, she was updated for FSX the beginning of 2011. I don't know of any other Heink's out there, so if you really want to fly one, this is safe bet.

Yea Mal, that does look pretty nice. Not sure what the problem might have been concerning the gauges, but in general they appear fine to me. This is the best bet Walter as start to finish, if someone started now and wanted to do a top notch job of making a native FSX Heinkel, it would be this time next year before you'd see anything. I'd grab this and be happy!!:salute:

It is a great model but the airfile has a few probs. Vary hard to trim, not nocking it though. It is one of my favorite planes!!!!

All the reviews I've read, and interviews with Luftwaffe pilots, indicate that the He III was a difficult bird to trim in real life and the Alphasim dynamics reflect that well apparently.

I think the problem with the gauges was that they have a very reflective look to them and that contrasted too much in some people's opinion with the very non-reflective cockpit interior. Moreso in the 2D panel than the VC.

I re-vamped the airfile before it was re-released. Frank and I tested it and I believe we ironed out all the bugs... :wiggle:

The Alphasim model is good but it loads up full of fuel and bomb load. Shed some fuel and bombs and it's fine.

Roger,
if you are referring to the HE's inability to get off the ground, we fixed all of that before she was re-released. She originally was a handful, trying to get her to fly. :icon_lol:

Don't think I got the re-released version. Is it just the cfg and/or the .air file?

As I recall most of what we worked on was the aircraft.cfg.

General and specific question....

What has happened with all the AlphaSim titles?

Is this still payware under Virtavia or is it now freeware?

Most AlphaSim titles are payware under the Viratvia label (including the Heinkel).

They can be found at the Pilot Shop at Flightsim.com

They are also on sale at the Flightsim Store (Australia).

Very true. Always wondered why no Ju-88 ever came out for FSX. The Ito model, though good for its day, is what, 5 years old. Considering it did everything from torpedo bomber, to night fighter roles, it would be an interesting subject.

Oh well, maybe someday.

Now that you mention it, that is a good idea. Never thought about the Ju-88. :applause:

Was there ever a patch for the Heinkel cfg?

Was there ever a patch for the Heinkel cfg?

There was an update shortly after release that fixed a few problems; mine's dated September 4th, 2007 in the aircraft.cfg. Don't know if the Virtavia version has had any further updates though.

Remove a bit of weight (Bombs, fuel) and it flies much easier.
