Took a trip up to Bruntingthorpe for the annual cold war jets open day, a really great day, not an airshow as such but still worth going, esp the EE lightning. thought i'd share some pics.
cheers ian

A little more info on what the Cold war jets open days about, like i said, its not really an airshow although there's a small flying elemant, Bruntingthorpe is the home of an impressive collection of privatly owned ground running 50s-60's era jets run by enthusiasts, the collection includes 3 Buccaneers, 3 jet provosts, a Hunter, Victor Canberra, Nimrod, Comet and EE Lightning, all of which make fast taxi runs down Bruntingthorpe's long runway, which was both a RAF and USAF airfield during the 50's.
I think 2 shows are held everyear and is a very enjoyable event.
cheers ian

Wasn't it at this show a couple of years back that the Victor got some unplanned "airtime"? :)
