Just in case your not keeping track of some of the posts here about a batch of Microsoft Ford repaints being release I thought I would bring them to your notice.

Many more have been published for download just this morning (Aussie time) for your flying pleasure.

There is now well over 40 liveries available for her.

Some may not be aware that the Microsoft Default Ford Tri-Motor is restricted greatly on what can be done in regards to repainting her due to many of the surfaces being Mirrored and many components are sized very small - however, you will notice that I have had some great fun being challenged by these restrictions.

Edward C. Moore has been a driving force on creating this massive collection of repaints - he has a couple of pet projects on the boil and this aircraft is one of them.

You can get the downloads at http://www.gjsmith.net - go to the Catalogue page and scroll down......

Regards and hope you enjoy them

Hi Good People,

Just to let you know I have just released a Golden (shiny of course) Ford Fantasy livery.

38869

The picture does not quiet do the shiny effect justice - take her for a run in FS2004 and roll her around in the sunshine in external view - multiple levels of gold and even a hint of chrome here and there.

Pop on over to my site http://www.gjsmith.net - use the Catalogue to get to the Ford Page and download the Golden livery and any others might interest you.

Regards and happy simming.

Hi Mate,

Yes it is on the Ford Page mate - Golden (Fiction) - in the list in alphabetical order.

Just checked - and the download button for the file works as well :salute:

If your not seeing it then you might need to refresh your browser, it might be hanging onto old cache.

Regards

Ahhh, I've been tracking the list assuming it added the latest livery at the bottom -- my bad. :icon34:Found a couple more I had missed.

Nice work Garry. Great batch of repaints. Only problem is I am FSX now. I'm not complaining. Very nice of you to share your talents :applause:

Glad you like them mate - I thought I heard somewhere that someone had ported the Ford Tri-Motor over to FSX (now that is a really ambigious statement:wiggle:) but if that is so then these textures should work there as well.

Regards and happy simming.

Ed, I didn't know this Tri-Motor existed. In fact, up until recent, I thought the only one available was the one from Tom at CRS Software.

Garry, looks like I will get the chance to enjoy your paints!

Thanks to the both of you for this topic. And David Grindele for his handy work :ernae:

32bit textures would be grand right now (wink)

Edit; After installing the Trimotor everything seemed good. All the animations worked as they should, and it didn't look bad at all in FSX. One thing I did notice was a strange looping sound of the engines, and it wasn't even started at that point. Once all the engines were powered up the obtrusive sound went away, or over ran by the other engine sounds. I set off down the runway, and off I went into the sky. It was nice to have the ole Trimotor back. As I gained altitude up into the cloud layer, all the clouds started to flicker and flash. Like a lightening storm with no sounds. As I continued flying the flashing of the clouds was wreaking havoc. It's got to have to do with the Trimotor. As a test I changed to a few other planes, and the flicker and flashing was no longer there. Once back to the Trimotor, there it was again. I've no idea what's causing it. At this point all I can do is push it in the hanger until the skies clear.

First off Thanks Garry and Ed great work. I was downloading them last night.

OleBoy

The default Trimotor works in FSX with out having been converted to FSX. Just go to your FS9 install or your FS9 disks and copy and paste the plane into FSX.

There is no need to download David Grindele's modified aircraft.

The sounds you are describing are a problem with FS9 sound.cfg files in FSX. Not all of them act this way but some do. I am not sure how to fix it yet. This problem happens even when the FS9 model it taken directly into FSX so it is not a result of David Grindele's work.

All of the other issue maybe a result of this work I have not tried it yet. My suggestion is remove his and put in the default unmodified version in FSX. See then if the other issues are gone.

FSAviator's updated FD works wonders with the Trimotor. The default version is underpowered.
