What colors were Japanese Navy aircraft painted in during the war?
I have seen some a light grey, some green on top and greyish on the bottom.
I am most curious about early carrier aircraft, Zero, Val, Kate.
Much of what I find on the net is confusing. Any help would be great.

At Pearl the Zero was light grey, most Vals were light grey ( some flight leaders were different color schemes ) and they had started to camo the Kates.
Aftewards they all started going to the green upper surfaces and grey lower surfaces.

Zeroes begun the war painted in a grey-green colour, like Tamiya modelling paint one. You can get info here: www.j-aircraft.com
