View Full Version : RAZBAM A-7K - repaints in slow progress.
Hi,
I just cannot leave Ron's A-7 family alone. I am currently working on a few repaints of the Kilo and the first one out is the mandatory NM ANG bird to go along with my A-7Ds from the same unit.
I am currently researching the PA ANG A-7K, 81-0074 and what I really need is the crew names applied to it. Are there anyone here that have this info. Any scheme (greys, Euro 1 or SEA wraparound) is interesting. I have collected quite a few images available on the net of this bird, but no close ups of the fwd fuselage left hand side seems to excist.
Attached the NM ANG aircraft, grey colour scheme. Hope you like it :wavey:
Thanks and a good weekend to you all

Did you ever do a PA ANG A-7D? I'll do some looking for the PA K info you're looking for. sine I'm from PA I'm always looking for paints from my state. I'm working on some A-10's for the IRIS bird.

Hi Skyhawk,
Nope, never did any 112th D-models but I plan to. I hade a ride with them in one of their KC-135s when here on deployment many years ago and learned then that the 146th flew the A-7. I need to do some of them.
Thanks

Looks very nice Dag! I have not yet got any of the '7s, but i'm really tempted. You making repaints for it is a quality sign.

I've always said.....the paints are what sells a plane. If the paint work looks toyish I avoid the purchase until good paints are done...if ever. Dag's paints could puch me over the edge on this one....:salute:
DAG...I haven't been able to find any names for you for the K model.
Hello!
Thanks !
Roger that Skyhawk, I will put on some fictious ones, most likely :-) That is against my anti fiction policy but what the hedge :-) What about Capt. Keelberg ??

"Col." is a nickname I got a while back from some of my aviation photogrpahy buddies. Lets' say lots of alcohol can do wild things to a man head.....:salute:
So mix that with the "Binford Tools" reference from Tim Allen's show Tool Time. The owner of Binford Tools was, John Binford......no not me! I can only wish.

Okay, understood :-) 81-0074 is started, it will be a Euro 1 scheme.

Yep, no probs :-) I can include an optional dds for the fuselage ;-)
Hello,
Nothing heard as of yet from the 112th veterans so John's name is below the fwd cockpit.
"Last 3" of the serial also appear inside the main gear doors and is correct on the left hand side. Due to shared textures the right hand side is mirrored. Nothing that bothers me to a great deal. I hope it looks okay.

NEVER use the word "waste" around your paints
I was hoping you would also do a navy with some teeth on her :applause: :salute:

you mean like a "what-if" VA-93......that would be cool. I really wish someone would do a VA-12 aircraft for the A-7E.
For now I will concentrate on ANG K-models and LV and AZ is added to the list.
I might upload some over the weekend. They will most likely be found at AVSIM. No painting during the weekend I'm afraid as I'm on duty most of it.
Thanks for the support :salute:
On the 'what ifs', not very likely I'm afraid.

Dag,
I'll echo comments above - I'll be buying this bird on the weekend, and it's your repaints that sealed the deal; excellent work, as usual, thank you. :salute:

Thank you DAG!
You're all very welcome :salute:
If you want the upper red beacon to show up at the correct location, look up the lights entries in the aircraft cfg and replace the first line with
light.0= 1, -3.550, 0.00, 5.050, fx_beacon
This way the red beacon won't show up in your refuelling receptackle. This applies only to the K-model.
