I'm messing with smoke effects trying to find the best looking, long lasting visuals. I tried the Iris Christen Eagle. Part of that effect (solid plume) looks good. But the sputtering (other effects file) I don't like, and it takes away from the visual awe.

I'm wondering what others like that I might try?

Programming FSX effects can be a real PITA. You might find this helpful:

Nice overview of the commands and parameters. I suppose you have the FSX SDK and the special effects tool? With this you can try different settings instantly.
Cheers (and good luck ;-) ),

I had considered learning how to make them. I'm more of a "easy way out" type I'm thinking as far as effects go. After looking at an effects file, it sorta made me nervous :icon_lol: Lately I've been feeling adventurous. No idea what the hell got into me :kilroy:
I'll surely look into the link you provided, Mark. Thank you.
