Attack on Kwajalein in Jan. 1944

I am having a real hard time finding information about the air opearations for the Enterprise eventhough she was present.

had some with my Essex campaign where Essex, Enterprise and Belleau Wood attacked/raided Kwajelein harbor on 4 DEC 43 as part of TG 50.3, but not much more shows fo January after that in the info I saved.

Get the book The Big E. It covers her operations throughout the war including what you want. You may be able to get it at your local library or you could buy it. Either way it's a good read.

Thanks fellows. The second attack in Jan. of 44 must not have been much of a show as far as the Enterprise actions taken other than ground support.

The Enterprise and Essex attack in December concentrated on shipping in the harbor. Essex soon after detached to join the force attacking Truk in Feb of 44. She may have participated in the Jan strike, but I skipped to the Truk strikes since my campaign was so long - 50 missions.

The second attack on Kwajalein was the invasion of the area. From what I figure and from the info I could find every carrier of TF 58 was there. TF 58 Hit Truk on FEB 17th 1944.

Yes, I had just done one invasion support mission (Tarawa) and didn't want to do another so soon.
