Awesome ... she looks grand.

Initially, I was hoping more for a single-seat Mk8 or PR9 (which would really be nice too). But last night, I was reading about our venerable old "Clunk" ....

... and now I'm glad there's a new all weather fighter for some nasty weather flying ... Thanks Rob!!

You just reminded me about 440Sq's history with the clunk and the last AC to display our Red Bat.

Wow2! What a Beauty! Something pretty solid about those 50's era machines.what?
As for #440sqn Bats..watch them during late 50's-early 60's punching holes in the clouds around Zweibrucken Germany...when the single engine 'stuff' stayed anchored to the concrete due to dicey weather. Hmm!

Patience DL -- Patience ;)

Sorry my comments were not presuming anything about a Canuk ... or any other model ... regarding any future Meteors that may come ... I'm game for whatever get's released.

As to the NF 14, I'm struck by how Gloster chose a steeper raked front windscreen over that of the F8 ... makes the nose look even longer! :) I'm wondering if there was an operation consideration behind that ... I can't think of any, but I'm guessing there was.

Thanks Rob - can't wait to get to my FS pc (another week! rrgghh) to take her out. Pleasant weather, definitely optional ... :)

Not to bump the thread intentionally But, Peter Watkins just released his 25 Sdqn and Ferranti and the yellow A&AEE repaints for the Meteor.......

Oh yes DL -- I think you will see a Mk8 before very much longer.....

That's the best possible reason to bump a thread! :) I think a good number of the AW squadrons are covered there - they look superb!

Nice to know the MK8 is in th works .... and if a PR9 is in there somewhere, that'd be splendid.

Some repaints by Peter Watkins have been uploaded to Britsim, including these rather colourful and interesting ones:

What a wonderful model. :salute:

Have you also pick up the Derwent Sounds package?

Have you also pick up the Derwent Sounds package?

Yes, will have to try how in compares to the sounds that came with it, and the second soundpack that is included with the Meteor.

I think looking at the files, they are more Vampire sounds. Which are different to the Meteor.

RyDraiggoch

Rob added the sounds he had so as not make a HUGE file to download -- The best sound pack is Neville Hepburns Derwent sound file available at the Pond...they are the perfect match for Robs Meteor.

I love this plane, thank you so much Rob :salute:. I only have a little problem: The engine RPM and EGH gauges are not working, the needles won't move. Does anyone else have the same experience? Just out of curiosity I added a minipanel with a stock 2D RPM gauge and that one works...

Thanks everyone for feedback / advise

PS: I just noticed from the VC screenshot posted by Ferry on the previous page of this thread that his RPM gauges are also indicating zero so I guess I am not the only one.

Problem solved: Rob was so kind to help me out with this on the BritSim forum: I did cause the problem myself by changing the panel.cfg, which should not be done. Problem has been solved by simply restoring the original panel.cfg.

Wow, what a great aircraft. Excellent job on such a nice piece of British equipment!
Gauges work just fine with me.

Superb plane! :salute:

Craig and Dave Q (and anyone else who cant get a complete download) I have put an alternative down load link in the general infiormation thread at The Pond under Meteor Nf14
hopefully this will help your plight, sorry your service provider cant keep up.

And for the Nth time -- The file is corrupt because the provider at YOUR end drops the file because it cannot download fast enough --- I have d/ld it twice in the last 24 hours for people with this problem -- It takes under three minutes to download the file.

Thanks Leif - done.

I still don't quite understand why d/l'ing from the Pond is a problem when no other site is; still the material you have is brilliant and unique so any slight 'challenge' is worth it!:wavey:
