A couple of years ago there was talk of building one. Someone that wasn't really a modeller specifically wanted to build a P-61 but I don't think it was ever started to be honest. I can't recall ever hearing anything else about it.

Hi there,

There was 2 people building P61s, one was me and there was another guy (forget his name), he was building one but was unsure as to weather he was selling it or putting it out free so i stopped building mine and then i got on doing the DBKF mossie project so i dont have time to do it anymore, to top it all off i had a major hdd failer and i cant get any of my 4 years of modelling off.

I have one, near complete exterior. Fly it around once in a while. There is a donation ware one being made for FSX, if we can get cockpit mesh we can convert to CFS3 otherwise it will stay in electron purgatory for ever I am afraid.

Make a nice PTO & ETO addition. they were used in both theatres, not 100% sure if they were in the Med though.

The last time this came up I put together a New Tactical Display that replicated the night fighter radar screen. It's in the upload library just waiting to be used in a Black Widow...

Yep and some of them have been briefly based at Vannes-Meucon airfield, south Brittany, around october 1944.

I never knew why. I suppose it was to keep an eye on airfields that stayed into German hands in Atlantics pockets. They were active as supply was sent by air until very late in the war (about march-april 1945).

Asked one of the FSX folks and looks like a no go, so it is off to e-purgatory for the p61 and I hope that with penance and prayers we can get her out!

But what about a CFS3 version? I don't play FSX anyway!

The P-61 is an ongoing SOH project for FSX and the VC is not finished. The external model itself looks fabulous and there are some very able folks working on the FM and the rest.

If anyone's interested the forum thread for the project is:- http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?40497-SOH-P-61-project but beware it's dozens of pages long!

Let's hope Ted gets the VC mesh when it's done. :jump:
