Thanks! The "Terminator" was done since there are already many excellent repaints around, not much motives left.

Just out of curiosity, i did paint the CV-580 some nine years ago and here is a comparison of the old with my new paintkit.

We've come a long way haven't we?

They look great. One of my favorite remains the old Frontier scheme. I remember the first 580 I painted in that scheme back in 1997. It required a special palette file because the aqua color wasn't included in the FS5 aircraft/scenery palette. Times have changed indeed.

To be honest, every single add-on livery will have to be redone since the door lines aren't there or don't match up.

Texture and galley door match up perfectly in GMax, but not in FSX. Can't do anything about except redoing all the paints.

If my mind doesn't fail me, American Eagle had a few 580s in service in the 1980s for which no repaint exists so far.

Searching for "Convair" in the FSX section gives good results on Avsim.

It's an all-in-one ready to go package.

Well, pilgrim....I went to Avsim and under FSX/FSX repaints punched in Convair and
did not find the repaints. Is there perhaps a file name that they go by? This would really
facilitate finding the repaints......

To deconflict ...

The model and some repaints has been released ... the Henry William repaints have not yet been released.

You've asked for the "model" initially, not the repaints. The latter aren't released yet.

And the model still can easily be found here, on Avsim or Flightsim.

I'm already finding that out. Other then "gee" "wow" that looks great....,
It was hard to discern their status.

Sorry, i'll notify when the textures are ready. The problem is that i'm not satisfied with the result. The engine textures look horrible and need some more work. Also there are several details that needs to be dealed with, like the windows for example. There should be no curtains on a Navy transport, so i need to rework them among many other things.

Hint: If you want to make me or other potential painters happy, release a revised paintkit and throw in new bump and spec maps. ;)
I'm sure the CC guys won't mind as long as they're properly credited.

Textures are generally a lower priority for me during development since they're strongly influenced by personal taste (and paint program experience).
Furthermore, and unlike model files, they can be edited anytime by anyone with the right tools.
