First unconfirmed reports say the car crashed into a church on the drivers' side; Kubica apparently has a fractured leg, arm and may even lose a hand..

Update: http://www.crash.net/f1/news/166449/1/robert_kubica_condition_update.html

"An update has been released on Robert Kubica's condition following his rallying crash in Italy this morning, with the Lotus Renault GP star having been diagnosed with multiple fractures to his right arm, leg and hand, his team has revealed in an official statement."

"The greatest fear is for the Pole's hand, which has reportedly been crushed and risks requiring amputation. The other concern is that following an F3 accident back in 2003 that left him with a broken arm, should the latest injury complicate that fracture, it could seriously endanger or even destroy his F1 career."

No church in sight, but it looks like maybe a piece of guardrail penetrated the car, which would also explain why Robert suffered injuries on the right side of his body.

Looks like we'll see the Senna helmet in a 'JPS' car once again...

Of course this will be Bruno and not his talented uncle, and he will not be leading the field but following it from behind, but still..

Latest update:

"We have to wait at least a week to see if his hand survives," Rossello told Italian media, referring to the likelihood of a return to full functionality. He added that it could take a year for the Pole to be able to use his right arm again.
