I think that the old Alphasim Beufighter is freeware now and it is a great players plane, but it's a bit heavy on the frame rates when used as AI.

Bismarck has a some great ones here in the archive and I probably use those the most. Search under his name to find them.
Some older Beaufighters that are still very useful and have a plethora of skins are by C Muier. Search under his name at: avsim.com or at flightsim.com

Thanks Jag, looks like the Alphasim Beau has gone AWOL somewhere. I should have known to look here first, seems to be plenty in the library...some are not downloading now. Got plenty of others to check out though:wavey:.

Jagd, I don;t have my flash disk handy, but didn;t William Dickens make a very good Beau, or was that textures? I'm sure I have either a plane or textures he did.

Sorry Jagd, I didn't make the Bismark/Dicken connection, duh. I searched this sight at ALPHASIM, I saw a Beaufort for FS9, didn;t see the Beaufighter.

I think the Beaufighter Icns here in the library might be an original Alphasim download modified for Oldwheat....not real sure about that but seems to read that way. Seems to react really bad to force feedback and firing guns...controls just go crazy.

I guess it must not be freeware yet. It's getting pretty long in the tooth, but it's still a great plane for CFS 2.

Hmmm...all these Beaufighters I come across seem to have a serious problem approaching in low...I dive down to target then suddenly about 1000' the controls go completely nuts resulting in a crash. It's as if the plane is striking something fatal about 1000' up in the air....it weird. Maybe a damage box is way out of wack ????
Edit: Found this problem....just doesn't like the 'centre spring' effect of the FF settings on my flight control set....but I can work around that.
