I have the Nemeth Design Huey, which I luv. But then I luv 'copters too. :)

Does the Aerosoft version offer anything different? In terms of VC, working instruments, Flight Model etc? I see that the Aerosoft version had a broader model range.

Ahh beautiful it is, but it's times like this when any freeware version looks great to me, lol.:salute:

Got just enough money left in the paypal account too. Think I will mess around with the Spitfire some more and sit on it.. To many good things this week. The Spitfire, this, and PMDG posted a new preview for NGX. Wonder what they mean by control travels in hover and cruise flight corrected? They act the same regardless. Either way looks like it will make another excellent addition to the hangar.

I had to get it. Downloading now.
....Their server speeds must be throttled back. I have a 5mb connect and It's coming in at 20KBs. That's just crazy

Edit, this is very nicely done. So far the only issue I notice is after shut down. The sounds continue long after the main rotors stop. Once the sound stopped a partial sequence of low rpm shut down sounds returned. It's annoying and needs to be fixed.
.........Is there a paint kit for it yet?

Edit 2; I posted my questions on the appropriate forum where it was developed

I'm very impressed! The Huey looks excellent but is also very frame rate friendly :applause:

I'm honestly very hesitant to reply to this anymore than I did previously, due to certain circumstances for which I wish to not assert judgement towards anyone or any products, nor do like seeing mud slinging.. as all it does is ruin my reason to be here. Which by seeing, hearing, reading, takes away from my enjoyment and experience. Let's avoid the open comparison A vs B topic getting started

....Enough on that.

I think this is an outstanding model all the way round. For my type of interest in flightsim helicopters anyway. By the book procedures are a bit much for a flight, as I like a quickie more often than not. So whatever you do to get her purring I say. Turn the page.
..I didn't purchase this to play reality/virtual reality helicopter pilot so...I can't compare it to anything real. Besides, it's not.

There are a few bugs to be dealt with that I won't mention. I'll just hope they'll get fixed in an update.

Tim, where did that SAR paint come from ? There's only one Bundeswehr paint in the package I downloaded, and its hasn't got those orange SAR doors on it.

Hi Tom,

Tim ,
what ground scenery is that in the screenshots?

That's Pellworm. A small German North Sea island.

It's part of Aerosoft's German Airfields 1 :)

I think Mathijs said next week for the paint kit. There is definitely one coming, and the matter of the German language text within the VC will be addressed too, for the sake of Vietnam-era repaints.

Yes I see that. I just spent a bit of time over there on the forum reading issues others are having. I hate support forums for the simple/frustrating fact that topics don't remain issue specific. It tends to make a simple question very confusing when others posting have nothing relevant to add. That said, I put my boots on a wade through it in hopes of the answer I'm needing.

Thanks Paul

An update is already out to remove the German text within the VC, if so desired.

i think so, i have the sea hawk and huey , both im sure i have registered, even when i try to log in i get the drop down menu of which products i would like support for and none of them appear, both products appear as registered in the aero soft launcher

i really have no idea and sites like this love busting my b@lls when it comes to support

Jeansy, just in case: when you log in to the Updates-section, under the drop down box is a link "Do you want to register another product?".

Did you use that to register the Seahawk and Huey? Only after following that registration-procedure will your products show up onder the "Updates"-section.

Jeansy,
they will not show up even when the product is activated!!
you must register them in their support database on their site using email used during purchase and giving your serial then you get access to the additional english cockpit files

hope that helps:jump:

At first reading of the comment Jeansy had made referring to gaining support I rolled my eyes thinking it can't be that difficult. Well, getting into their support system was a test of my patience. Not to mention a bit ridiculous. In the account I have at their download shop I see where it says "updates" at the bottom. That's where I would expect updates to be but, I have to register again in the support area for updates, and then register the product I'm wanting the update for. Once that was done it was painless.

Edited

I must say I have never had to use their support system as all the stuff I bought from them works flawlessly (I know not all are so lucky).. Must be different than just logging in to your user account it sounds, as that is where I get my updates from.

I've edited my above response..as my first experience with support was taxing my patience, I realized I had forgotten a step. Once I walked through things again it was clear what I didn't do that was causing the trouble.

Just had my first chance to wring this bird out. I was on the beta, and tested her quite a few months ago but didn't have anything particularly interesting to add. When I got busy was when things heated over on the beta, so I wasn't very useful.

Regardless, I took her for a nice flight around PFJ, using the new Return to Misty Moorings scenery that was put out. Quite a fun bird. I have no qualms. She performed as expected in all regards. She was realistic to the touch (in my opinion), flew well and had some nice aerodynamics that I could see. She's definitely a keeper in my eyes, and for helo ops, I'll certainly be using her more. Very enjoyable.
:jump:

(EDIT: I nearly forgot. English VC textures were released. I used them in the Canadian version I was flying. http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showtopic=42876)

Nice repaints there Tim. It's always good to have choices other than government related forces.
....I tried a search for a real world customized Huey. Paint scheme wise, I came up empty handed. Not a single owner out there that had any balls to pimp his ride.
