I just installed them and have been trying to use them in QC however when I do they cruise past at about 245 knots and I can barely catch them. How can I slow them down to a more realistic speed?

I donīt use QC, so I donīt know how to change the speed in this mode.
However, if I want to try out a new aircraft I make a short mission in MB. There you can set the AI to any speed you like, within the specifications in the "Misc Data" section in the respective a/cīs DP.

Hope this helps..

Thats a great tip Skylane,
its worth mentioning that when changes are made to a dp file they will not take effect unless the .cdp is deleted.

Try this: Open the xxxxxx.dp file and scroll down to the MIS_DATA section. There you find min_speed, cruise_speed and max_speed. If I am nor mistaken these entries are kilometers per hour. Change these entries according to the specs and your B-17' s are no racers anymore.
Don' t forget to delete the CDP file.

Cheers
