View Full Version : Looking for...

Hi,

I'm about to make my way back to the hospital, but before I go, I wanted to let you know I'm not going to be doing campaigns for a little while. Aside from my parental responsibilities, I'm going to clean out my CFS2 installs of all the "junk" that builds up, and close down my Late Med installation.

I'm also looking for two things...a weapon and a gauge, which are alluding me...

Gauge: Hurricane_2.gau
Weapon: wep_pylon_p39_cl

If anyone knows where to find these, let me know!

Thanks,

Rami,

I have 9 of them:

hghb_brake_sound.gau
ba_throttle.gau
ga_mil_kneeboard.gau
Sopwith.turn-coordinator.gau
russ_amps.gau
russ_oat.gau
00.dc3.compass.ca.gau
Ju52.controls.3.gau
gerww2_altimeter.gau

Check your email.....

I think the _0001 suffix on some gauges is something CFS2 creates. A CFS2 back up or something. I have files with _0001, _0002, _0003, _0001_0001 with some gauges and they were not from the original aircraft install folders. I have noticed though some panel.cfg files do call for a _0001 gauge included with some installs.

Oglivie,

Thanks! I'm using Gauge Explorer to clean out a lot of junk, and it's useful for finding missing gauges.

Hi,

I thought you guys knew about that proggie! One word of caution...it DOES NOT detect any aircraft in "hangars," so make sure you dump those into your AIRCRAFT folder before running it. Otherwise, you may inadvertently delete gauges you want to keep.

It also has a bad habit of deleting the cfshud.gau and the lso.gau, so be on the look for those.

That's a great device and a bad device!:icon_lol: It took a little to set up the way I would like for central backup folder but determined I had a lot of clutter. That is the good thing. The bad part is it told me I had a lot of missing gauges!! Now to make a central list of hem and ahunting I have to go!!!:running:
Thanks for the heads-up Rami:wavey: as I have been comtemplating how to clean up the gauge folders ( and my navel:jump:)for my various installs. They have become a mess!

Rami;
where you able to find all of those gauges you were looking for? I also come up missing the "hurricane_2" an some others I can't find. I also seem to be missing some gauges with the prefixes of "ec...." and "ddron...." These were from a converted British Stirling and I guess they are 2004 gauges and should just be ignored or replaced.

I haven't been to Flightsim to get the GaugeExplorer yet. I've never seen any hurricane_2.gau and fdg2_b17_2.gau files anywhere, just hurricane_1.gau and fdg2_b17.gau files. Other than any software glitch, they maybe for a different sim as Fibber stated. Perhaps it may be just as well to substitute CFS2 gauges for them. Just some thoughts.

Rami;

I found some of your missing files and they are attached in the zip file. (hopefully!) Note that you listed a b26_plack_2.gau and b26_rlcbomb_release.gau files I founs a b26_plack2.gau and b26_rlc_bomb_release.001.gau files I think they may be the same just either different versions and a typo.:salute:

In here are fdg2_b17.gau. I could not find the _2 file. Also the trimmanzeiger.gau, he162_egt.gau abd the wjr_r4dgyropilot.
I believe the B17_2 is like the hurricane_2.gau a computer specific as I can't find it anywhere. I have a radiocd4, not 3, if you want it.
I was under the misconception that you were going to post a new list and I didn't realize that the previous one had been changed.

Rami
January 30th, 2011, 12:55
Fibber,

Thanks, that took out a BIG chunk. I also adjusted the panels of the Spitfire, B-17, and B-24 to eliminate a few of the gauges by substituting different ones.

p-40e drop tankvc.gau
nippon_sperry_ap.gau

Rami,

I'll keep an eye out for them. Other than the ammo.gau (that I think is a count gauge), I have JWB gun and cannon count gauges as well as a bunch of other JWB gauges.
