Anyone know how to make the tail beacon light blink/run in FSX/Accel for the
Aero Commander MODEL 560A(HC) for by Milton Shupe, Scott Thomas, and André Folkers and Team Commander?

There are butt-tons of liveries and none of the rotating tail red beacons work/blink.
About the only external lights I see are the landing lights.
Better yet, I'm looking for a Shockwave lights receipe that would work.

You MUST control that light and all lights from the overheads. If the 2D Nav switch is in the center position (Off), you can use the VC switch to turn it on. However, if you want it to blink, you must set that from the 2D overhead panel. See attached and click above the switch.

Use of the overhead is mandatory for the lights on this aircraft. All the lights work here in both FS9 and FSX.

Hope this helps.

Milton:

I tried switching on the lights as per you pic however I had wierd
results and the little red light that sits atop the tail does not blink,
I can get certain areas of the plane to blink in red but not the lamp
itself. See my pics for better description, The third pic (upper panel)
blinks in red indirectly but I cannot see it blink (directly).
The left most pic I circled in red what blinks in red when I turn on the
beacon switch.

Okay, I see now that you are talking about the AC500 Shrike, not the AC560. But you also have an AC500B in another picture. Both are different aircraft and panels than the AC560.

I will have to install those units in FSX to test them out. These aircraft and panels were built in 2003 (8 years ago) and I have newer versions out with xml gauges. The Shike has not been updated as I did not build that unit and do not have the gmax source to it.

Looking at the aircraft.cfg Lights section, if you see the following or similar light effect names, change them to drop the .fx at the end:

light.3=1, -19.75, 0.0, 9.90, fx_beacon.fx ,
light.4=1, -1.1, 0.0, -4.65, fx_beacon_commander.fx ,

For FSX, I would recommend that you download the newer versions like the AC500 with wood panel:
http://www.flightsimonline.com/ac500wood/ Download link at bottom of page.

Or, the AC560A(HC) here: http://www.flightsimonline.com/ac560av3/index.htm

Or, the AC520 here: http://www.flightsimonline.com/ac520v3/

These aircraft are much nicer than what you are flying there. They had significant updates to the models, panel, gauges, etc. You may have to update the prop but that's it.

OK I have the new and improved ac520 (or at least I think I have.)
any how, the top anti-smash light still causes the horizontal stabilizers
to blink and not the bulb itself atop the vertical stabilizer to blink.

I downloaded the complete package that you linked to. The 4 part
separate links I assume were to build up the old FS9 to FSX mode.
Part 4 is a dead link anyways. Notice the "glow" on the horizontal
stabs...

I dl the AC500 +AC650.
Both need a propfix,is there any available?
Thanks

This is what I am using; there may be better out there.

Unzip these two textures, name appropriately for replacement.

That works--thank you very much!

None of my aircraft are built for FSX. The hstab issue is likely the beacon. Swap it with another fx used by another FSX aircraft to see if that corrects it. The effects used in these aircraft are FS9 effects so using an FSX beacon may resolve the issue.

I will try to look at this later.

Milton:

I went to com central net and they have a Aero commander collection for FSX
that is comprised of all the Aero Commanders that you and your colleagues
put together.

Link is below:

They have the prop texture fix for SP2 as well:
