To all,

I am happy to report that I finished the last two Tuskegee missions this afternoon. The entire campaign has now been re-packaged as one unit, with a full 100 mission campaign file. However, it is not slated for release just yet.

Why?

I would like Devildog73 to fly it, and he has discussed adding a handful of Corsica-based missions to it, perhaps as an optional add-on. I've also had an idea in the last twenty-four hours that might be a way to "throw a curve" at you or reward you for mission excellence, thus making the campaign itself dynamic, just as the new Defense of Australia has become.

Also, the opening Casablanca missions use the beta Afnor - Part II scenery that is close to being finished.

The campaign does contain missions over 64KB, so it will not be suitable for pre-XP users, for this I apologize.

This massive update includes many more random chance elements, dynamic missions with multiple outcomes, and improved timing for many missions. It has also incorporated the new Pantelleria scenery by Jean Bomber. (As it has in the Beaus in the Sand project)

To Devildog73: I made a minor adjustment to mission 67 "Destroyer Attack" - The harbor scenery at Karlsuvica (the infrastructure, not the planes or guns) is now permanent GSL, thus making the mission size smaller.

I also found older versions of several missions that sneaked their way into that pack I sent you, this has now been rectified.

I'm glad this is completed, I've felt obligated to finish this for some time now.

Just for fun, I decided to throw in a few "reward" missions to make the campaign dynamic, at least in spots.

Here are the descriptions for three I've done so far out of six...

"title_string"=Tuskegee Airmen - Rescue at Brenner Pass
"summary_string"=Listen up! We've received frantic radio calls from bombers of the 15th Air Force who've been badly mauled by Luftwaffe fighters and heavy flak over Munich. We are to take off immediately and bring these bombers back home!
"objective_string"=On July 19th, 1944, more than 400 USAAF B-17s and B-24s struck a multitude of targets within the Munich region. These included an ordnance depot, an airfield, a motor works, & an aircraft factory. Flak over the target was extremely heavy, close to two dozen bombers were lost over Germany, while many more were heavily damaged.
"intelligence_string"=After getting airborne, maintain 330 degrees and head directly for Brenner Pass, where you'll meet the crippled bombers as they try to limp home. It's imperative that you do everything possible to keep enemy fighters away from the bombers, it will not take much to bring them down in the shape they're likely to be in. Good luck!

"title_string"=Tuskegee Airmen - Escort to Monte Cassino
"summary_string"=Due to your extraordinary success protecting the Anzio landings, your commanders have chosen to give you a change of pace. Today, you will escort B-25 Mitchell bombers who'll strike the monastery at Monte Cassino, which is a formidable obstacle for our forces pushing toward Rome.
"objective_string"=The monastery at Monte Cassino was actually not occupied by the Germans when the Allies chose to level it, the German gun positions were positioned off the summit. The Allied strike actually allowed for occupation of the rubble by Wehrmacht troops who then used the ruins to wreck havoc on Allied forces.
"intelligence_string"=Intel has sighted an observation & communication post in the monastery on Monte Cassino in Central Italy. The wing is sending a flight of B-25s which you'll be escorting. We understand that fighter kills are the glory statistic for our pilots, but our mission is to protect the bombers. DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, leave your bombers. This will only be seen as a sign of weakness and cowardice.

"title_string"=Tuskegee Airmen - Strafe Monte Cassino
"summary_string"=The German forces who occupied Monte Cassino monastery after Allied strikes are now using these ruins to rain artillery shells down onto our troops. While it seems a shame to destroy such a historic building, such considerations have no place in time of war. Your objective is to destroy the remaining ruins.
"intelligence_string"=German forces have gun positions located off the summit of Monte Cassino, but have now occupied the ruins, using the monastery as an observation post and directing fire from the AA guns onto the Allied forces. You must use your 500lb bomb and machine guns to try and put them out of business!

Good afternoon,

Well, I've completed the four "hidden missions" and added them to the campaign file, there's now nothing more I can do here. The total campaign is now 104 missions, but we'll see how many Corsica missions can be added to this. It's now composed of a single campaign package, making it easier to install.

I'm officially closing the book on this campaign, although I will work on the new missions that Devildog73 cooks up for it and include them in the package, or make a small add-on. When Afnor - Part II is completed, along with the Ju-52 project, THEN it will be released.

If anyone wants to beta test it in the meantime, just let me know.

Weeellll, I guess you did enough. Buddy! I got to tell ya, you make it hard for a fella to stay in the PTO, but I'm never leaving! OK, maybe some day. When I'm ready, I might as well make a new install with all the airbase adjustments. Those Afro-American pilots were something most of us learned about as youngsters. I have seen their story on the military channel many times. Can you imagine all the crap a black man in the 1940's would have to go through to become a pilot? Even after doing such a great job for their country, still no respect. I will always admire those fine gentlemen!:salute::salute::salute:

Thanks Rami and all! Sounds like it's gonna be first class all the way! :ernae::salute:
