To all,

First, allow me to wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving, we're certainly having one at my house with my wife's family staying with us...my father-in-law is teaching me how to deep-fry a turkey. I haven't lost my eyebrows yet.

At any rate, I slipped away for a moment to inform you that we now have prop textures for the Junkers Ju-52 conversion. I also wish to pass on Kelti's notes, and Simonu and I have discussed the propeller hub as well.

This will not be a perfect conversion, the model will only have "semi" breaking parts, but considering what has been available, I think you will be most pleased with the results.

Hi Andrew,

Please find attached the prop texture files for Pierino Primavesi's Ju52/3M
for FS2004. I am sorry I had forgotten all about my offer to do them.

Unfortunately there are a few issues with this aircraft model and the
blurred propeller disc display does not comes out 100% right. Primavesi made
a mistake that's quite common among add-on aircraft designers, the blurred
disc appears "behind" some of the aircraft parts, more precisely the
undercarriage struts, wheels and the nose engine exhaust pipes.

I saw it happening to William Dickens', Wolfi's and Merlin66's aircraft.
William was able to track the problem down, he explained me it has to do
with the compiling sequence of the model parts, the propeller disc must be
the last one in order to be displayed correctly "in front of" all the other
parts. On top of that, the propeller hub of the nose engine disappears when
the animation goes from slow spinning blades to blurred prop disc with both
mine and the original prop disc texture. Nothing I can do to avoid those
problems, other than suggesting that the full disc texture enhances the
visual defect, while, with the single-blade, sometimes called "fan" effect,
it's somewhat less evident.

I also included a Green Ghost-style exhaust effect, I didn't include install
instructions because I assumed the aircraft pack will be uploaded with
everything in place already. Was I mistaken?

Take care and thank you for yet another joint effort project, this is what
keeps CFS2 alive and running!

Cheers!

Note: I did not include the exhaust effect in my pic.

Allow me to thank Simonu, Oldwheat, Kelti, Japlance, SteveB, sc7500, and Seagull V to this point. There have been many members to this point that have had a hand in what you'll be enjoying shortly.

Thanks for raising this Rami, I hadnt noticed the prop disk issue but it was right there in front of me, trying to find that missing hub I have marked up all the prop disk calls and can move them with ease.

Yep, the prop disk must be the last part, at least in fsds.

This will end up with a nice & modern Tante Ju for our ancient hobby.

And don't forget Mr. Primavesi and his series of Ju 52; and also Rami, who started it all :ernae:.
