My dear fellow bush aviators!

Following some suggestions at calclassics
http://calclassic.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=general&thread=3342&post=30034

the MAAM Goon joins my paint shed once again.

Just uploaded to the usual places:
Northwest Territorial Airways DC-3, depicting C-GWIR (now serving with BUFFALO) of NWT Airways in its 1986 livery.

And here's the real deal:

Nearing some final fiddling:
Air North's C-GZOF "Klondike Explorer"

We have a couple of Basler's hanging around Yellowknife at the east ramp far end. They also operate out of Inuvik and Iqaluit. Sadly only FSX has the BT-67.

?North-Wright?

North-Wright is Twotters and Islanders and C185's out of Norman Wells and Inuvik. I dont recall any DC-3's in there Fleet. Kenn Borek does but that's the BT-67's. Only DC-3 based operator left here in NWT is Buffalo also our only L188 operator and C-46, DC4.

@ Claudius:
Some things better remain unpainted - and a blasphemy like a turbine-fitted Gooney is such thing... :bump:

This time it's the DC-3 passenger model.

Don't miss this amazing shot here:

The cargo door outlines still need some 'rounding', but she's almost ready to fly...

Thanks, mate!

Final fixes done:

You'd better not try to open the port side pax or cargo door:
It's just painted on, since the model has the right hand pax door!

Well, guys:
I think this is it!

Just did some final check flights above Glacier Bay and Tongass Fjords and would like to share those quite contemplative moments with you.

I'd like to express my deep gratitude to Holger Sandmann and crew for giving us those amazing landscapes to soar above and to Pablo "Captain-of-the-Clouds" Diaz for his awesome cloud and dawn textures!

Now I just have to write the readme file and pack her.
Should be available in a few hours...

Have fun!

Cheers,
Markus.

Marcus,

Thank you so much for continually sharing your talents and embellishing our FS worlds with great liveries for great aircraft. They are gifts that keep on giving. :applause:

I feel highly honoured by your kind words, Milton! :salute:

But I simply can't overemphasise the fact that it's master-builders like you who keep our flightsim world alive. Painters like me just smash some layers of paint upon your masterpieces!

Modelers and FDE geeks could get along without repainters - but what would we blotted paint guys do without you...?

Cheers,
Markus.

You are too modest Markus; do not sell yourself short.

We provide the canvass but you guys bring life, interest, and longevity to the product.

I salute all texture artists with humbleness and respect. :salute: :applause:

CF-HTH obviously was fitted with a radar nose, but maybe this inaccuracy will be okay...

Just dug a little deeper, and this 1963 livery of CF-GOC looks awesome too, doesn't it?

Thanks, guys!

Part II of the upcoming NORDAIR double feature is almost done!
Had some probs with the almost unreadable logo in this pic:
http://www.airliners.net/photo/Nordair/Douglas-DC-3/0118412/L/ (http://www.airliners.net/photo/Nordair/Douglas-DC-3/0118412/L/)

I wasn't able to figure out about the lettering, which appeared to read "NCA" or "MCA". But then, some deeper research led me the way:

At
http://www.aerofiles.com/airlines-nz.html (http://www.aerofiles.com/airlines-nz.html)
I've found out that Nordair in 1957 became subsidiary of Maritime Central Airways. MCA! That's the clue!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maritime_Central_Airways (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maritime_Central_Airways)
http://www.baaa-acro.com/Compagnies%20M/Maritime%20Central%20Airways.htm (http://www.baaa-acro.com/Compagnies%20M/Maritime%20Central%20Airways.htm)

So it wasn't too hard to create a appropriate logo.
And here she comes:

http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt112/wildbillkelso_berlin/DC-3/nordair_GOC_1.jpg

http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt112/wildbillkelso_berlin/DC-3/nordair_GOC_2.jpg

http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt112/wildbillkelso_berlin/DC-3/nordair_GOC_3.jpg

http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt112/wildbillkelso_berlin/DC-3/nordair_GOC_4.jpg

The very handsome "Nordair" letters were built completely from scratch utilizing a timetable image as a template with some handdrawn layers on top. Took about three hours to get the letters done, but I think it was worth it...

Happy birthday, DC-3!
In December, it's 75 years of this "collection of parts, flying in loose formation"! :jump:

Up to some final adjustments...

Cheers,
Markus.

Thank you once again for your kind feedback, guys!

Upload was done 24h ago, and AVSIM already counts 71 downloads. Our SOH librarian was (as usual) even faster - thanks, Rami! :salute:

Phew - that was it for the MAAM Goon (until further notice...). Now it's back to Rick Piper's HS.748 with the MOUNT COOK LILY waiting for release...

Cheers,
