Took this at a rest stop near Gainesville. It was with my D40 at 200mm using the 18-200 lens.

Looks like a Sparrow Hawk or a Cooper's hawk, more commonly called a Chicken Hawk. About what size was the hawk, crow size or larger?

Larger than a crow. More like the size of a raven. He was about 10" tall sitting there.

That's a Cooper's Hawk then, Sparrow Hawk has almost identical markings, but is a much smaller bird.
