flying the approach in the Convair 990A

I can only say that flying the approach in the Covair 990A is a lot differant from doing it in a 767,757,747. On my final in the HJL 990A I had to pay attention to my airspeed, as I approached the outer marker at Kelowna British Columbia my speed dropped to 160 knots then I heard the stall warning horn go off I applied 10% power to about 180 knots then crossed the threshhold cutting the power to 160 knots again then the stall horn went off and the big bird stalled hitting the runway hard. Some of those early jetliners can be a bit tricky to land.

"The numbers" are vital when landing the Convairs.The 880s and 990s I feel right at home in,no troubles flying them at all.But I get in a 707/720/135 and thats where everything goes wrong for me,don't know why.The early Boeings just don't like me.
