I do a lot of my flying from and to small out of the way airports. I do appreciate MS taking the time and effort to create all these airports...but they did drop the ball and did not spend any time giving the airports any decor....they are just strips out in the middle of no where. I plan to jazz a lot of these airports up by using Runway12 to place some hangars, some fuel pumps, some FBOs....that sort of stuff. I have the Runway 12 libraries...but I was on flightsim.com and found that our very own Sidney Schwartz has put together a very nice series of scenery objects that can be used with Runway12, EZ-Scenery and other object placing programs. One that really caught my eye was a collection of vintage/old GA hangars....just the ticket to give my favorite out of the way airstrips that well worn, fly by the seat of the pants feel that I like. There are collections of airport restaurants, modern hangars, large hangars.

So, if you are looking for some very nice scenery objects to spice up your favorite airstrip, head on over to flightsim.com, do a search for Sidney Schwartz and grab these collections.

Thanks for all the work you put into creating these objects and for sharing them with the simming community. And thanks to you and Pete for the amazing scenery projects that you have cranked out.....you guys make bush flying so much more enjoyable.

If you're looking for a lot of those airports that are already done, check out Pete & Sid's collection that are already spruced up. There is a huge number of airports here mostly through Alaska, BC and the northern provinces. Plus Sid has some for Idaho. There are a couple of other designers that are good mainly Wensley and Loney. Flight Ontario has some wonderful scenaries for, well, Ontario. For outside North America Toni Agramont is great. Sorry if I've missed anyone. It's nice to do it yourself but there's already much that has been done. Maybe I should have started a new thread but I thought it fit.

edit: Oops, how could I forget Leon Louis?

Thanks, Obio...you just made my day. :jump: I updated most of my object libraries so that they can easily be used with RWY12, ADE9X and Sbuilder. And of course they already worked with EZ-Scenery and Instant Scenery.

Don't forget to share. Upload your enhanced airports so we can all enjoy them. :wavey:

Sid & I have done all of BC ( except where the payware packages are , Van+ ; Misty & Tongass Fjords ), some in Alberta , most of the Yukon is done as is the NWT & Nunavut.

Quite a number of airfields & strips in Alaska are covered. Plus a scattering through Washington, Oregon, Idaho & Montana etc etc.

Above about 65* Latitude in northern Canada, we've left those because of the funny terrain issues.

It's addictive :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

I think it's awesome by the means you two just move right on in if an area has room for improvement. Why not? All it ever takes is a few pictures to get you both started. And there are hundreds for airports (especially private fields) out there that need sprucing up. Now that's what I call closing the bar :salute:

(Yes, there's one in New Zealand.) It was not the intention to do anything fancy or particularly accurate, but simply to make the default scenery less boring and more fun.
