Guy's is there a way of making the level of detail radius bigger other than just the slider, what part of the fsx.cfg controls this please?

Yes Pete,
In the FsX.cfg under [TERRAIN] alter this value. It is 4.5 default but I have it as:

[TERRAIN]
LOD_RADIUS=5.500000

If you change the LOD radius manually remember that if you go into FSX and the Settings page and make any changes, when you exit FSX it will always default the LOD back to 4.5. So you'll need to catch yourself every once in a while. But if you change it manually and never change the settings within FSX, then your manual edit will hold when FSX exits.

Thanks Meshman, I will remember that! May I ask what your LOD radius is, and also your name too mate?

Also remember that it is very taxing to your system. 6.5 isn't to bad, but once you start heading to 9.5 and certainly 12.5 you'll notice a huge difference, especially scenery with autogen. For Photo scenery, such as the Horizon UK scenery, the impact is slightly less without the autogen and I usually plump for 9.5 for flying and 12.5 for screenshots.

Save custom display files with your required lod_radius, it makes it much easier to swap settings around.
