A little mystery tease. :ques:

Oh and a hint, it is not the Champ, that is very, very close to completion. :wiggle:

I'd say it was something lightweight with only 1 or 2 seats judging by the bungee cord return system on the castoring tailwheel.

Champ is real soon DC, final beta due this weekend, all to do then is refine the .air files for all variants.

But nope, not a lightweight two-seater Taco, something a bit larger.

No turboprop, some old and missing from FSX.

Is it something form the DeHavilland factory ?

Cazzie
September 10th, 2010, 17:21
Nope Craig, but it is from your favorite era. :d

Hint: It's American, introduced in 1925. Those aren't bungee cords, they are newer plastic wrapped anti-corrosion cables, heavy duty gauge. The plane use a one of a kind trim system where the whole rear aileron tilted up or down on a slight angle to trim it out in flight.

I know this may sound stupid and random but is it a Stinson Voyager? Not that I want one but just got the feeling it maybe! Defo wrong though!

Thats a small version of a Ford Tri-Motor tail wheel. Its framework also was mounted behind the fuselage cut-off point, under the rudder.

I would venture to say something of Dutch or German origin or something that mimicked the Ford Tri-Motor design?

Could it be that small single engine radial baby that looks like a mini-Tri-Motor?

Bill when I saw that I knew it was American but it's killing me, not knowing what it is, not that I want it that bad but I recognise that cut in tailwail caster, it's driving me mad like when you can't think of that song you heard on the radio in the car lol!

Congrats to pilottj and Butcherbird17, it is an all new Ford Trimotor, something Microsoft seemed to think FSX could do without. :wiggle:

Nice!!!

This will be interesting.

Who is making it?

I'm thinking Curtiss Hawk of some sort; perhaps the P-1 or P-6?
I'm only saying this because the Hawk III (model 68) has a similar setup.

Edit: whups too late, but a Trimoter is nice too.

Tom (Crashwoody) at CR1 Software is doing this one like no other, she'll be a winner, guaranteed.

Oooh, a seriously done Hawk of any series for FSX would be double-delicious Doc. I wish.

Well I feel dumb... The first thing I thought was "Ford Tri-Motor"... then thought how I'm never right at anything and shrugged it off and waited for the real answer...........
