Am I reading this correctly ?

http://www.captainsim.com/index.html

...pleased to introduce the 707 Captain family of expansions for FSX. The family will deliver the 707-300, Freighter, VC-137C (Air Force One) and E-3A AWACS variants*.

And at € 59.95 = $73 or something close at today's exchange rate. :wiggle:

Ripoff....

Unacceptable... $73 for the base package.

I might as well say this now: I am also upset by PMDG's pricing on their 747 and MD11.... $50 is about the most I'll pay for a really nice product.

I paid full price for all the c-130's and once the xmas sale came around i felt like i was shot thru the heart. 73 USD is frankly insane regardless of the level of quality. Accusim is priced on par with the rest of the market and that gives the best immersion hands down. I will more than likely pick this up if its ever in the 9.99 sale.

I've been looking forward to this, but but at that price, I've got far too many 'real life' things to spend my money on. If it had all the 707 variants, I could probably talk myself into the justification, but at the moment, I have voices in my head telling me off in the sound of my missus's voice !!!!!

Doh, I'll carry on using the freeware stuff until I become rich !

Apparently it has been released without a manual - it won't be available until Friday morning - which may explain some of the issues that the guy sharing his initial impressions is having.

Not sure why anyone would want to release a complex jet liner without a manual, especially at this price. Bound to lead to frustrated buyers.

It will likely be a while before this one appears in a €10 sale, I don't think the 767 has been that low yet. But there will probably be some discount once they release the expansions.

$73? choke choke...see 'ya at sale time or maybe not (grin). With today's economy the way it is, they must be living in a bubble.

I'll just have to be content with flying the thousands of other addons I have.... http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/images/icons/icon23.gif

It would interesting in seeing from the perspective of someone who owns the fs9 version, what the $73 really buys you. I mean you get a -300, but is it a -300B, a -300C, or a turbojet - 300? And Pan American flew all of them to boot!! I guess the VC-137 & E3A are in a later update too? How much later? As said, $73 is a lot to charge for a single variant. There are many "advanced" FS simulated jets on the market today, with very, very deep, system simulation with multiple models/versions, at a considerably lower price. And in the 2010 economy?

I certainly hope the B-52 update (maybe, someday - certainly before the holiday's - I hope!), isn't in this price range. With the economy the way it is, and showing no signs of recovery soon, prices like this are a little "out there".
