A Miles Kestrel, the Master better performer ancestor. It could be a terrific emergency fighter! Only 15 miles slower than the Hurricane with a Kestrel 765Hp engine...

The wheels don't turn... All other animations worked fine... Looking at it, you see that RAF could built a fine low cost emergency fighter to complement Spitfires and Hurricanes. It seems an Arab stallion! The airfile I did is near the real think but needs more tests...

Have you come across the Miles M.20 (http://www.aviastar.org/air/england/miles_m-20.php) or the Miles M.24 (http://www.aviastar.org/air/england/miles_m-24.php)? Almost exactly what you are thinking of.

The M.9 Kestrel was cleaner and faster than the Miles M.24, a Miles M.9a Master trainer derivative. RAF raises instrctor seat, modified radiator position and changes fuselage to a more pedestrian (and easy to build) form. All these changes affected performance. Speed dropped 100KPH! They pratically kept only wings and horizontal stabilizer of the original plane...
