I was flying my Caspian Sea Monster earlier, and for some reason it looked, well, lacking, FX-wise. I looked up some pictures of it, and the wake for the real one was huge. Is there a way I can get a similar effect in FSX?

Where did you get that model?

I got it from flightsim.com's 'Other Aircraft' category. It is the stock one from [I think] the Aleutian Cargo Run mission, made flyable. I haven't seen it on the mission though, lol :frown:

Hi Folks

Jim -
The Caspian Sea Monster is a WIG,

Think of it more as a ship,
or a seaplane, that doesn't actually take-off.

The wake-effect is only partially displaying in your FSX screenie
because you're flying too high,
and no longer in contact with the sea-surface.

Try skimming the surface to see the full effect.

i made this flyable myself once to get a decent looking effect close to real ones onpen up the aircraft.cfg file

find the effects entry and add the line indicated:

[effects]
wake=fx_wakeCSM
then save it agian.
