The USNVA,recreated the famed dogfight over the Yalu river last night using the awesome Section 8 F-86...5 Sabres(repainted as FJ-4 Furys) ingaged 2 Migs and got the best of them. The Sabres were repainted in USNVA Squadron colors by Mike Puckett....Here's how it when down.....

Migs scrambled to meet the on coming Sabres

How do you know you have shot someone down?

you can't actually do that in FS9 right?

It's just a saying in fs9 circles. Nothing more than mock dogfighting

sorry WhiteHawk, but our repaints are really only for members mainly because they are personalized..i.e ...http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/usvaf_451/migkills.jpg , but in this case the author i think was planning on putting some on avsim only with out names & numbers

I have been posting pics showing dogfights, here is an example of 20 mm cannon fire (what the Navy Fury's were armed with),not .50 cal...at a fleeing Mig-15.the cannon effects almost resemble how it would in a real fight, if you pull too hard the rounds fall away.
Here i'm walking a burst while the mig is climbing

Here he levels out and the rounds go right through him

One of our former Fighter Pilots did a Vid ....this time the Mig wins....

not sure if posting vids from you tube is acceptable, if not i'll take it down..thank you

That is an interesting modification (repaint) you made to what had been three .50cal gun
ports on each side of the SectionF8 F-86 in order to simulate the two 20 mm cannon that
were carried on both sides of the fuselage for the USN Fury. ;)

Thank you, but I can't take credit for the repaint, my repainter and Deputy Commander(Mike Puckett ) is the master when it comes to doing them.He believes our repaints should to realistic. And our VA,being Naval we fly the FJ-3 & 4 Fury and they were fitted with 20mm not the .50 cal.

Mike Puckett has uploaded several of his Fury repaints to avsim if anyone is interested.just do a search of his name, the repaints are shown with the 20mm gun ports instead of the .50
