This is the first scenery I ever create for FSX, which started as a small effort to relocate LGTT to the correct location and create a correct AFCAD from the default scenery using ADE. I then started adding default buildings but they did not look right at all so I found out about using google sketchup which worked quite well and I created the basic ones. Then I wanted to model everything as I happen to fly from LGTT in real life and knew a lot of the details. Anyway this is where I stop for now and perhaps in the future I might work on it more.

I have uploaded it here at SOH: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=4&id=2180

I will also upload at Avsim tonight or during the weekend.

Tatoi is both a military and civil base, a common occurance in this country, where we owe a lot to the Air Force for the existance of general aviation. The base is a home of the Air Force Academy, the Air Force museum with lots of static exhibits, a utility squadron flying PZL M18s, three aeroclubs and one gliding club.

There is a readme with a lot of details in the package. I have also added a traffic file. If you have GA traffic > 10%, a Cessna will appear at one of the aeroclubs parking spots, taxi to the active and just fly in the pattern and return. In reality in this airfield the downwind leg is always to the east so sometimes the pattern is clockwize and others anticlockwise depending on which is the active runway. The pattern to the west is reserved for gliders. The AI of course can not follow this rule.

There are full credits in the readme but I wish to repeat my special thanks to Smoothie, MCDesigns and falcon409 and here at SOH as well as Arno from FSDeveloper forum for their great help and support.

Hope you enjoy it. A few shots from my install:

Yep, that's an impressive feat for your first time, to go from default objects to learning to custom build your own during the process. . .well done Dimus. Glad to hear you got the AI problem figured out.:salute:

Really nice!:jump: Looking forward to your next one.

Sure wish I had the time and talent to do what you did.

Thanks Nio!

There are so many talented people in this forum from whom I've learned a lot just following their threads and by direct communication. I wish I could have some more feedback, mainly for things that I could do better or more efficiently so the next one is better.

C'mon guys I need your constructive criticism. Please take some time to try it out.:jump:

After a recent visit I discovered a few things that were modeled wrongly so I made a patch for it. This is what was corrected in the patch:

- For non UTX/default FSX installs the railway is not correctly placed by MS and runs directly through the airfield. This is due to the fact that in this scenery the airfield is shifted east to its correct location. If you have UTX installed the railway is correctly placed and there is no issue. The best I could do for default installs was to add an exclude polygon so that at least no rails are shown inside the airfield. Thanks to falcon409 and his screenshots where I spotted this.
- The air force museum building roof is corrected to be assymetrical and windows added to its eastern side as well as a pine tree that actually exists there. Also the light green colour was changed to an even lighter shade.
- The south gate was enhanced adding metal bar fence and some more vegetation
- The colours of the 1940s hangar at the T-41 apron were changed to the correct current ones (light grey with light green doors).
- The old control tower is now demolished so it was deleted.
- A water tower was added using default MS object (Sorry I do not have much data to accurately model it, I just know it is there)
- Added fuel pumps at the Mesogion Aeroclub parking and the Dekeleia aeroclub hangar. Corresponding refuelling parking spots were also added.
- Added a localizer object and ILS small control building at the end of Rwy 21. From what I know there is no published ILS frequency for Tatoi, I just know that these antennae exist there so they are either unused or used only by the Air Force.

The patch is available at AVSIM: http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=151139 and here at SOH.

I am also making another small private GA field that is close to Tatoi, Ikaros airport, that would be a good short flight destination. Once done I may prepare and share flights and plans to go with them that will also show off the surrounding area for anyone interested.

Thanks for all your kind words and encouragement that kept me going as all this is very new to me.
