I had this EXACT same thing happen to me, regarding the uploading of scripts and a phishing website. Several times in fact. It appeared that in my case, the scripts were being injected through an outdated guest book. Until I finally removed that guest book, they continued to upload the phishing data. It was rather awkward trying to explain to my host why I had an HSBC bank phishing website on their server.....

Anyways, the problem has been fixed on my end, and I wish UKMIL luck in dealing with their situation. These things often come when you least expect them to, and hosts can be rather suspicious and cold when these things happen.

Unfortunately, these are the times we live in. Until we can teach our kids a strong grasp of right and wrong and the consequences thereof, this crap will continue. As CS&N said "Teach your children well."

A few months back, while in Indianapolis, I visited my cousin and his family. His son is 15. I was asking him what he did for fun. His reply? "Infecting peoples PCs with viruses."

I asked him why he would want to do that. His answer? "Because it's fun, and something to do....."

The worst thing I did as a teenager was throw toilet paper in someones trees in their yard.

Different day and time, that's for certain.

Hi Folks

Please don't assume that these hacks
are carried out by either individuals or kids.

Pishing & Porn are big business.

i.e. Not carried out by script kiddies.



At various different times our 5 sites were hacked, (multiple for each).

All were subsequently proven to have been hacked
via root access of the hosting company's insecure servers.

i.e. Not via our portal or forum mechanisms.

Our logs currently indicate approx 100 vulnerability hack attempts per day.



Traffic massively increased at one of our sites
and our ISP closed the site down.

On inspection
it turned out we were unwittingly hosting
an extremely extensive collection of hardcore porn. :icon_lol:

Again the hack was internal to the ISP,
with > 500 of their hosted websites either redirecting or directly hosting the porn.

Yes Paul you are 100% correct and is still happening as I type this reply... so like Paul has said... check your Hosting Company and make sure the same is not happening to you !!
