P-47N WoP taxi issue

When I taxi in the P-47N by WoP the tailwheel begins to hop up and down. I have checked and compared the contact points to the other P-47's in the pack and I can't find any obvious differences that would cause excessive wheel-hop. I've tried several different airfields as I initially thought it was a problem with the apron surface, but it happens everywhere I try it. I have all the updates installed and I found no mention of this on A2A's forums.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Hi there Chris...does your POINT.0 match up to what mine is. My plane has no tail bounce whatsoever.

point.0 = 1.000, -19.600, 0.000, -3.050, 2000.000, 0.000, 0.700, 45.000, 0.100, 4.000, 0.900, 6.000, 5.000, 0.000, 180.000, 225.000

Yep my point match yours perfectly.

Hmmm..Could this be a load issue? I never fly with the bomb loaded.

I'll have to try with the full load.

I never tried with the bomb either...it might actually be a balance issue because of the load position.

Just tried it with a full load and with no weapons loaded and it made no difference. The wheel-hop goes away once I get above about 20 KIAS but if I slow down it returns. I'm baffled.:banghead:

try doing this to Point.0 Chris.

That did it! The only issue is the tailwheel is sunk a little into the pavement but I can live with that. I may play with that number a little to get a good compromise between the bounce and the sunken tail wheel but I'll be happy with it as is.

try changing this -3.050 to -3.15 and see if that reset your tailwheel to level with the tarmac Chris.

That helped out a lot! It's much closer to where it should be. Now it looks like I'm taxiing with a full load like it should have to begin with. Very good advice. Thanks again Randy!

If its any consolation, the real N's tailwheel is always a bit flat due to the normal weight of the aircraft. I don't ever remember seeing an N on the ground with a fully inflated round tail wheel.

no prob Chris...I get the bouncy ass syndrome on my own planes at first and have to adjust those particular points until it sits right for me....too much practice for my taste..lol
