web site for you containing excellent views of the Cessna 140. I found it while looking for 3 views for a balsa model that I have just started to build. When I get it finished, it will have a wingspan of 12 1/2 inches.

When I looked into how much a model of the 140 would cost, I decided that rather than spend $ 257.00 U.S. dollars, I would build one.

Additionally for all the Cessna 140 lovers here at the Outhouse I'm attaching a somewhat modified drawing of a 140.

I think Lionheart threw in the towel on the Cessna due to licensing difficulties.

Last time we exchanged p.m.s I was under the impression that he had resolved the licensing issue. Maybe not as I haven't heard from him in awhile...:banghead:

I expect licensing issues is one of the reasons why the model from Historic Aviation costs so much. The base for the model has Cessna's logo on it.
What ever the reason, I am just not willing to pay over $ 200.00 for a model....:censored: Additionally, it was of a Cessna 140A with the single wing strut. I would have had to modify it as I'm currently flying a 1946 Cessna 140. Sooooooo, I'll just make my own. :running:

Willy's correct. The EMI group collect $2500.00 a year as well as Cessna collecting their royalties of 5% on each sale. The royalties was not the issue. The $2500.00 'club' fee was what I call crooked. It would take almost 1/3rd of the year to pay that off, every year, lolol....

However, more and more people keep asking me to make one 'similar' and slap on a fictional name. Its starting to appear to me. So long as its not the same 'identicle' plane and says nothing about cessna, then its good to go. Cessna do not get any recognition, so-and-so doesnt get $2500.00 to go on vacation every year, and everyone gets to fly a cool classic. :d

Here is one brilliant video of the 140 in the hands of a pro.

Sounds like a plan to me Lionheart...:costumes:

Since I got a current medical and check ride, I've put over 60 hours on my friend's 140. Was planning on flying some tomorrow but, the weather is not going to be VFR down here in South Georgia.

BTW, I reckon that I better not put any logos on my model...:isadizzy: Just might hear a knock at my front door...:costumes:

LOLOL...! Yep.. :d Might as well play it safe.

I had switched to making the Piper Pacer taildragger version, and have been waiting for 2 weeks from them. I called and they werent quite ready to talk yet, so I think they are going with EMI. Just a bad feeling or a hunch. I hope I am wrong. If thats the case, 'ex' that one as well. Only a similar fictional one. At least I'll not have to worry about counting the proper amount of rivets on them. :d Saves me royalties as well. (Why didnt I think of this before???)

You could use Lionheart Creations for the manufacturer's name and Oscar Foxtrot Zula (One Four Zero) for the type. I for one could care less that it is not called a Cessna 140....

Just a thought. :running:
