There are some gauges to be improved. And the bird is being painted with USMC textures.
IŽll post the captures of the new image of the Harrier as soon as we have good images of the work in progress

The aim is to release it in the summer (of 2010, of course)

Thanks for your interest.

Me too, really looking forward to The Harrier!

This is for you, Peter, since you were interested in a ship with skyjump. IŽm finishing the second ship which will serve as a platform for the Harrier

Thank godness the pilot had time to win a Martin Baker tie. I wish he is OK.

Lo9oks and sounds like a minor engine surge resulting in an increase in sink rate... Nasty what ever the cause.

Thanks for that...I've just sent that link on to an ex-Harrier GR3 driver that I know. He too is a member of the Martin Baker Club. :d :)

I remember seeing some close up pictures of this accident in one of the British daily papers which cited engine failure as the cause of the high sink rate.

Looks like he stuck with it until the flames started wafting over the cockpit then thought "sod this...I'm off!"

Glad he made it.

Turns out it was a 41sqn airframe...ZG478/68. Accident occurred ~10.30 local time on 14th May 2009.

There are other solutions to land a Harrier. To be used when the wheels decide to stay at home

Thank got the 250lb bombs decided not to go off too, if I was that pilot I wouldn't have waited to eject I would have been gone at the first sight of flames, never mind them covering the cockpit like that!

Was just reading about the Nalls Aviation Sea Harrier and it reminded me of this. Is there any more news on a release date?

My last news from the developers are that they are improving new gauges. I requested also news about the USMC textures. As soon as I can say anything else I will post it here.

Thanks - looking forward to this one.

Any chance there will be some RAF liveries? Would compliment the Virtavia Jag and IRIS Typhoon nicely

It's the wrong type of Harrier for RAF liveries if memory serves?

Correct. The GR5/7/9 are all significantly different to the Spanish Navy Harriers.

I don't think an AV8B is externally that far off a GR7 or GR9.

The Gr-7/9 Harrier has a different radar (and avionics) than the Av-8B II+. This means that the nose is not the same. However, the rest of the plane, with small differences in the weapons pods and guns they carry, is the same.

The cockpit is different as well to accomodate the different systems and weapons.

True, I just dug out some pictures. I really haven't been paying enough attention to modern military developments over the past few years, I picked up a copy of Air Forces Monthly on my last trip to the UK and was surprised by how much things have moved on.

This will still be a great model though and I recently downloaded the photo scenery for Spain, so that seems like an appropriate aircraft to explore it with :)

well they've updated the site...

The site is being updated and many contents are not available at this moment. The reason for this is that we are moving all operations and training programme to FSX. That means we are the most interested in finishing the Harrier. But, as I told Peter123 in other topic, we needed a new xml programmer to finish the gauges. Now we have one, and the Harrier project is running again.

My apologies for the delay, since we promised it for this summer.

I really think it's testiment to you and all the team who is working on the harrier that this aircraft gets so much attention and the occasional rant about it not being ready, myself being the worst for this lol, I personally wish you and all your team the very best in getting your project completed as soon as possable and I know this is going to be one of the finest models of the harrier to be made for FSX!

well..i can see in the future of this plane a "busy cockpit" VC, baked textures, drop able ordnance, loadouts configured by the user and some other stuff...
