Graham gave me every one of his addons, I have all the source files for every single one of them. He just kinda gave up, I remember talking to him the day he gave them all to me. I wastrying to encourage him to hold on but he just lost drive. So he gave me all the stuff for safe keeping and told me to dowhat ever i wanted with them. SO i took good care of them all this time. I will see about up dates for them.

Really misss that guy.

He was a good memeber of simtech when he was in with us.

Good to see you back Tom ,,, Puttin in my Dibs for a restructured Vb- Hawker Hurricane Vc update ,,,, As the first plane for Cfs-2 I still flog it in combat ,,,, Hints thinner front window supports would be a huge bonus ,,
I still roll out the Vb-Spit one ,,nostalgia I guess ,,,

Ya....................with computers and software....................

You loose the thrill.....................computers are becoming like refrigerators and washing machines.............everyone got one .........and a new model comes out the day after you get yours.

Also..............the feeling of wasted time................you living in a virtual space.............

You have to watch the psychological end of online or computer/software work........or play

I know VB planes...........you know VB planes...................they are great ...................and I feel like I am still in the cockpit..................how many downloads has VB possibly had...............maybe 200,000 or more....

My work ..........as cheeky as it is ........has had over 60,000 downloads....................so there is a mark to consider for VB.

The size of a average National League sport arena is 90,000.....................twice that many ......world wide have sat in the seat of a VB plane.

The payware aspect is now a problem..............everyone is seeing ......man....200,000 x $5.00 =????

which can get slightly un motivating for the past free builder............you gotta watch the starving artist syndrome ..........or the mozart complex...............curse you Antonio Salieri you robbed me of my work...................and made me feel like crap........

Hey all, you know Graham was a very good bud of mine, and we built alot of great planes, all of which i have never released yet, they are mostly ww1 stuff as he loved that time erra as much as i. The best I can do because allot of them are very old models and to fix them would be almost a total rebuild so its not really worth the tiem to do it, But I was thinking why dont you guys give me a short list of 5 vb planes that are the best ones and I will look into fixing those ones as much as i possibly can for you, they will come back to you under a combination Vb/simtech lable and I will post them on my new site. This way we honer ol Graham and keep him in the game a bit as well.

Thanks Guys

Hi Tom,
Great idea, good basic aircraft the VB airforce...

Generally updating the lot(!) with a bit of shine (if pos?), better crew members maybe and a few tweaks here and there.

Just shout if you need a hand?!

I think that's alot to ask of a person who is recovering from a stoke and is just getting back into things again, don't you?I know about strokes because my brother had one in 2001 and is still not fully recovered and still on disability plus I had one in 1995 and it took a few years before I was really back to pretty much back to normal. If you took the time to read the link in Aerobat85's post you would see the planes would all have to be reworked which would take more time than Tom feels they are worth.I think we should all be happy with what he does no matter how many of the VB planes are done or any other planes he does.

Sorry for the rant but I think certain people are just selfish when it comes to people working on addons and want everything no matter what.

I'd like to propose another option.

Of course it would be up to Crashwoody, but with all the VB planes in the hanger, it might be helpful to select some project teams to rebuild some of the VB planes. There are some real jewels in the VB collection and with today's state of the art, a lot of new life could be breathed into them.

We have several accomplished 3d designers, painters and DP-FM experts. Perhaps Crashwoody would share the base files for select planes with select teams for a rebuild of the VB stable. With several teams rebuilding some of the VB planes, we could have quite the community project and gain some very useful and nice planes as a result and would take some of the pressure off of Crashwoody.

Hey guys its all good at ol simtech, Im just takeing a day at a time here guys, Im like cfs2, I aint going any where hehe so I will eventually get them all done and if they cant get fixed I will just build new ones for ya.

Im still the deadliest painter you ever saw, good at guages and sounds and air files and all that, but the modeling is the where my brian just cant remember any thing.
Heck I even forgot that there was a Avsim and a flight sim .com... and today i wa told of them and it was like wow i never heard of them, and then i went there and I see i did some reviews for them both, And I cant even remember i did them...

So some things i retained and some i have to start over again.. its just the terminology for the most part, but i have fdsv2 and gmax and some how i will get it all going Again and i do believe that simtech will rise from the ashes of her previous life into a much more solid and mature presence in flight sm then she ever was.

I have a few brand new never ever released Vb models here they are mapped and i just need to get them out to ya.

But 1st the site, i need to work on my new site.

Thanks guys for the suggestions good to see you guys are die hard like me.

Cfs2 forevr!

:-)

...from the Volunteer State, I'll step-up to offer assistance in the upgrading of any MDL files in FSDS2.24.....should Tom decide to run with Jagd's suggestion. And I'm sure there are many others who would be glad to fill-in any specialist gaps Crashwoody encounters. :ernae:

I'm in the early stages of repainting the F4U1 'Birdgcage' Corsair which is still a fine model and looks the part so I would love an updated model to work on. I would love to buy some donationware F4U1 and other planes but I have a real phobia about doing any transactions over the net so I stick to freeware. I must be reading too many PC magazines :redf:

If I can only have four (cuz I'm not greedy:costumes:)
I would love to see updates to the Lancaster, ME210, ME410, & ME-262. These are all aircraft where there aren't a lot of other options. No offence guys but there are already tons of excellent P-51s and Hurricanes out there to use in CFS2.

The perfect option (cuz I am greedy after all) would be to do as Jagd & TR propose and do the upgrades to the entire fleet as a SOH team effort. I am willing to offer whatever help I can (I can't do much but I make a great cup of coffee).

If Tom's happy with the effort that it will take, then more power to his mouse!
But I do understand what Talon is saying about it.

I like Jagd's idea of sharing the work load and as said if that's something I/we could help with, then great.

Cheers

When it comes to Gmax, I know just enough to be dangerous, but I think updating a VB plane or two in Gmax just may be the learning experience I need to help me turn into a modeler.

For what it's worth, count me in on the updates....at the limited level of my Gmax skills, or at the more advanced levels of my skinning, DP tweaking, panel updating and sound pack tweaking (using Lawdog's files as the ingredients in new recipes).

And if I had to choose just 4 VB planes to see updated: Me-210, Me-410, P-82. Okay, I could only count to three, so someone with more edumakashun can have the my last one.

Hi Oldwheat,

Starting from the home page, goto CFS2 Addons, from there, goto Aircraft, VB Planes has its own section second from the bottom.

Kind regards,

I grabbed VB's Re-2005, Me-210, and Me-410. VB built the only examples of these planes for CFS2 that I know of. Now I am curious. Where can I get the weapons pack for the Me-210 and 410? Were there any repaints done for these two as well?

Also does anyone know of a good Lanc for CFS2? I know VB did one, but it doesn't have a dynamic VC.

Tom, the two I have any real experience with would be OW's suggestion on the Dinah Ki-46 and the Yak-3. Whatever you work on will be appreciated:salute:

I still keep a few VB planes among my different theater installations: the Re.2005, the CANT-Z 506, and the Messerschmitts 210,410,and 262. The 210 and 410 duo look a bit old (just a bit), but give good frame rates, and no substitutes are around (as far as I know).

New updated versions of the same 3D models would indeed be very welcome in my CFS2.

Watchdog22 did two great repaint and update sets for the Me-410. Both used to be available here but only one of the download links still works http://www.sim-outhouse.com/downloads/download.php?lloc=downloads&FileID=12455

The VB German weapons pack does not seem to be available anywhere anymore.

I have all of these files so I am uploading them for preservation in the new library.

I was looking for these packages when I started the development on the 354th FG campaign, and they weren't available then. I see they were uploaded in May so I missed 'em. Now I can give download links for them in the instructions.

I really like VB planes. I have thought about getting into the air files with airconfig and tweaking their flight dynamics to get them as close as real as possible. SopwithC and others have done some really excellent skins for a lot of the VB planes, which are multi-LOD.

I like many of JRL's planes also, but wish they were multi-LOD.

Hey Fellas,

I looked almost every where for the VB_FW190_A.zip and can't find the whole aircraft. I know one of you guys knows where it is at. It might be right under my nose. Not like that hasn't happened here before.

Thanks,

I have the VB_FW190_A on my storage HD and just submitted it in upload. In the mean time, I will look at our library and see what other VB planes are missing that I have and talk to Rami on Sunday about uploading any missing planes.

Update:
I have 59 VB planes stored with an additional two exhaust effect files. There are NOT 59 VB planes in our library, so I have some uploading to do.......

If Rami has a way of just printing off a list, we will do that when he gets back to my house tomorrow. If no way to do that from the database, I will go through and match what I have with what our SOH library has and upload the missing aircraft over the next week or so.

Howdy,

I did a search and found a few of the 1% planes have a "VB" copy right paper in them. A few of them have a wee bit better MODEL in them.

Would these be considered true "VB" planes?
