There's been an A330 crash in Tripoli. Weather conditions were reportedly good, and no cause hs been so much as pointed to yet.

Puzzling. That close to the runway and drops out of the air as it did. I'm curious if what the ACARS data was(if anything)? Will be interesting to see what the FDR & CVR's show.

All kinds of things pop to mind. I am almost wondering about an engine failure with a lack of crew coordination leading to a Vmc while low and slow. I knew a guy who lost an engine on takeoff with no runway remaining, and it became obvious Vyse wasn't happening; when he started Vmcing off to the left, he chopped the right throttle (good on him) and took the crash rightside up instead of on his back. He walked away, but might not have otherwise.
