For the past month, the Schooner Adventuress has been competing in an online voting competition that is promoting historic preservation in the Puget Sound region of Washington State.
Tomorrow, May 12th is the final day for voting and the Adventuress is in a close battle for first place. The winner will receive a $1,000,000 from the Partners in Preservation grant program. We could really use the money to help with ongoing restoration projects.
Please follow the link, Register, then log in and cast a vote for the Schooner Adventuress.

I would like to hear more about your group though.

many thanks for your votes.
I realize that the process is a bit of a chore,
so your efforts are greatly appreciated.
btw, this may seem silly,
but after you click on the Schooner Adventuress,
don't forget to click on the vote button at the bottom of the page
and if you voted yesterday, vote again today.
you can vote once every 24 hours.

we are coming down to the wire at midnight tonight, PDT.
currently we are tied for first with Town Hall Seattle
with 19% of the votes, so every one counts.

as for my position, I am merely a member of the Sound Experience Foundation.
what that means is, I donate money to the Foundation.
in return, I receive a friends and family discount for day sails on the Adventuress,
not to mention, the satisfaction of contributing to a worthy cause.

also, the Foundation leases office space in Port Townsend
from Edensaw Woods, the company I work for and over the years,
we have supplied wood for the ongoing Adventuress restoration projects.

thanks again

It's Official! Adventuress has Won

The Partners in Preservation website and the National Trust for Historic Preservation Program Officer, Anthony Veerkamp, have confirmed that Adventuress has won the popular vote and will receive $125,000 in restoration funding for her counter stern. This is a distinct phase in the Centennial Restoration Project scheduled for completion when Adventuress turns 100 years old in 2013.

as I mentioned above, this was a battle to the wire.
in the end, the Adventuress got 20% of the votes
and the Seattle Town Hall got 19%
as a result of the large turn out and very close race,
both projects will receive a $125,000 Grant. FANTASTIC!!!
(my apologies, in the opening post, I said it was $1,000,000)

many thanks
