This is a total rework of the stock Bf109g-6! The model has been tweaked to give left and right cowl guns with specific stereo sounds for each, the gondolas have also got left and right gunfire sounds, the FM is as near to real as you can get - tweaked by Rene from the AvHistory V4.00.164 g-10 flight dynamics, highly modified xdp, new special effects, new high-resolution skin, and so on and so forth. This skin is still WIP.

You can see one of the projected effects in the screenshot below - to simulate the puff of black exhaust smoke the DB605 coughs out when you use poor quality fuel and give it a bit of an unexpected kick!

If anyone has genuine MG151/20 or Mg131 sounds, or near enough, I'd be interested. I'm getting close - far from the tinny stock rubbish - but still not entirely satisfied...

I'll be the first to admit I'm not into this Jerry stuff but I'll give this a try for sure. :)

Is it possible to have the puffs of black smoke when the a/c bunts (sudden dive without half-rolling first) ? That would be good - see how many greenhorn pilots think they've scored a hit and then come back up and whip their tails! :tgun2:

Not possible, unfortunately. The only parameter I know of that can be used to trigger an effect is speed - so I've got it triggering when the aircraft moves from cruising speed to buster. It gives pretty good effects when you bounce them! Although they do tend to do all the same thing at the same time.

Nice one Nigel, this little bird is my fav Jerry fighter (a bit like my prefering the Hurri in the RAF)

Flying this thing is quite a shock after one has got used to the G-10, especially if the G-6 is portrayed in the three cannon configuration. It feels horribly sluggish (not that it isn't just that with an engine matching that of a Spitfire Mk V) but it performs as it should, the maximum speed is pretty much exactly what it should be and the climb rate is within a hundred feet of the commonly quoted figures - and actually on the high side. I can only give a great deal of respect to the pilots who managed to emerge victorious in the G-6 against the likes of Spitfire IX's or Yak-9's.

Bit more work done - if you look carefully, you'll see a few details... Getting near to release!

I'm finding the puff of black smoke nearly as good as if they were dragging a contrail around the sky when it comes to being able to reacquire a target I've lost track of during some violent maneuver. It is too bad that it can't be programmed to sudden throttle changes or pushing negative Gs.

Also goes some way to explaining the grossly exaggerated scores claimed by B-17 and B-24 gunners... If the aircraft you're shooting at suddenly coughs out a cloud of black smoke (cracking the throttle open to get out of range as fast as possible, having approached at slightly lower speed in order to maximise firing time) then you would be understandably enthusiastic about the idea that you've hit it!

They are dragging a contrail, too. Thin exhaust smoke trails. I've seen a real Bf109G with a DB605 at airshows, and even with modern, high quality fuel it still makes a mess. Green it is not!

I recently read a book from August von Kageneck, this is the way is brother Erbo got rid of is ennemies when he was hurt or heavily attacked. He also fired all is arms to let a big smoke behind him. I recommend you "Erbo pilote de chasse" August von Kageneck if you don't allready know.

Dans un Français moyennement correct ça s'appelle se faire enfumer !
Sorry I don't know any translation for this...
