Could somebody give me the correct number of rounds carried in each underwing MG151/20 gondola on the Bf109G? It's getting confusing here, and my main source of info, the French Histoire et Collections books, are about as trustworthy as you'd expect. The 109 isn't an aircraft I know that well.

Never, ever buy books by Histoire et Collections - I know most of the writers, and their work is so full of inaccuracies, mistakes, bodges and carelessness that you really don't want to pay for them. Get the Osprey books instead - I've only rarely found any inaccuracies there. I only got the H&C ones because I needed the profiles.

According to "German Air Force Fighters of World War Two, Volume One" (1968) - 120 rounds per gun.

1 or unlimited is the same as they don't work in CFS3.

Nose MG131 300 rounds each.
Engine Mg151/20 200 rounds.
Wing gondola Mg151/20 135 rounds each.
That's from the March 1943 Bf109G-5 and G-6 armament manual.

could you explain please, I don't understand. You mean that there is a way to make those pods working well when they just loadout?

Well, they do work - if you use the "select weapon" key until they come up and then fire normally. Some say they actually do no good, but I've fitted them to other aircraft that have no significant forward armament, and they do do some good.

Don't bother to put them onto AIs, though. There, they don't work. No work-round that I can find without access to the source file.

are you sure? I've tested to fire against targets only with gun pods and they simply have no effect. This is the reason why the Hurricane MkIID has the guns included with the model and not as a loadout.

They don't have "no effect", they do have an effect but it's a very weak one. From what I can remember it was said to be about the same class as that of a small calibre machine gun. I also remember that some people claimed they had cracked the problem but for the life I can't remember who it was / they were. I never found out the difference by looking at the XDP's of stock and modified gun pods as they looked just the same.

I Like the wing cannon pods on all the Bf 109 g models.
They make a big difference in attacking these "Armor Plated Bombers"..

You have a time of shooting down a B-17 or the stock B-26, (which can fly through Brick walls and remain flying with the DP she has)
I fly against Bombers often in the various expansions, and The Bf 109G as does the F model also.. Needs these extra 20mm Pods..
I have fitted 30mm Gun Pods on My Bf 109's..OPPPS
(burn him at the stake!!!)
Yea, so what.. not correct..
BUT FUN..

and when I work out How two Mount (2) Gau 30mm Cannon and One Nuke-tipped Cruise missile, and keep the 109 flying I will..
Very heavy.. Nuke tipped Cruise missiles are..

Well Maybe not on the Nuke tipped Cruise missile..LOL..

Actually, the Bf109g-6, 10, etc/R4 had two 30mm MK108 gunpods. Where's the problem?
