Month of the French, eh? ;)
Some nice pics thanks Mike, I rate that one of the best flightsim models out there.
You could do a whole French cadet training package, complete with promotions:
Nord, Fouga, Mirage F1/III/IV/2000
Hope this one's in the Gems thread...

I have a great sound set for this, but I can't remember where I got it from?
May have been from a different Fouga download. All I know is that you just have to have the one with the true "whine" that it produces.

Hi Tom,
I think you talk about the sounds included in the foufinn package available at fsnordic.net.
BTW Wing_Z, how about the Cap 10 by Samdim in your " :france: training package"?
Cheers

Stéph.

Magister/Zephyr drivers shouldn't miss this one:

http://www.eaa1000.av.org/pix/fouga/fouga.htm

I especially love this paragraph:

"CAUTION

You will lose massive cool points if, at the end of your flight, safely back in your parking spot, you get out of the jet without first disconnecting the static line. Pulling out part of the static line is bad. Getting far enough to deploy the parachute is...well, you don't want to think about it."

As for the sounds:
"You're probably more familiar with these engines than you might think. The Turbomeca Marboré II engine was licensed by Continental and built (with a few modifications) as the J-69, installed in all of those T-37 trainers used for eons at USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training. You'll probably recognize some of the same types of throttle response. You'll definitely recognize that high-pitched "tweet." "

Maybe it's Cessna T-37 Tweet sounds you're using, Tom?

Cheers,
Markus.

Yes, this is a fantastic freeware jet, and if I remember correctly, there was a very nice "Aeronavale" paint scheme for the CAP 10, anyone know where I can get it?

Hi Flyboy208,
go and get it there: http://www.frenchairforce.fr/download.php?view.192
For a better behaviour of this Cap 10, replace the Fs9. air file with the FSX .air file that is part of the new FSX version by Samdim (and Anto)... that rocks! :salute:

Of course!
And thanks for the tip on the FSX FDE, I'll give that a try.
EDIT: And thanks for the link to the French AF site, lots of goodies there!
A question: is this a FAF VIP aircraft?

The A340 is not used as a VIP plane with the French AF, we have A319s and Falcons for that use.

The repaint did look a little fanciful - those A340 mods are usually reserved for oligarchs and oil sheiks.
Thanks for confirming this.
