George is fast becoming the Kazunori Ito of Sikorsky seaplanes. :d He keeps cranking them out, I keep d/l'ing them.

Very nice!

I see that my earlier JRS paints for the S-43 don't quite work with the new JRS model because of a few file name changes and the addition of the fuselage side doors to the texture files.

I've just made the requisite tweaks and reloaded my repaints here and at FlightSim.

Hi,
Thanks for your repaints for the S-43/JRS-1. I thought I saw a blue/navy version as well?

Andy.

Andy.

Someone else did the early war blue camo paint, not me. It's at SimV, packaged together with a somewhat inaccurate pre-war paint.

Trouble is, it's painted for the Inter-Island Airways version of the S-43, and just as with the first versions of my JRS paints, it would require some reworking to make it work on the JRS model. Some changes in texture names and mapping and the addition of the fuselage side hatches on one of the textures means that you can't simply assign that paint to the JRS model. A few modifications would be required.

I guess there's be no harm in using it with the earlier S-43, and editing the aircraft.cfg file to have it show on the select aircraft menu as a JRS.

Well, I reworked and re-released my JRS paints for the JRS model, so maybe the guy who did the camo paint will do the same.

found this discussion at thiscalclassic thread (http://calclassic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chat&action=display&thread=2427), it's been released now at flightsim

I've been working on some improvements to the flight dyanamics for the S.43, S.43B and JRS-1s. They all use the same .air file, so I just picked one and tried to improve it's landing abilities. ..at least as best I know how. With George's permission, I've just uploaded that package, 1 .air file for each model, to Flightsim.com, so it should be out in a day or two. I hope you enjoy it. If anyone has any ideas on how to improve it further, PLEASE let me know.

Yours,
