Can someone explain to me the difference between the g_ab500 and the g_sc500 bombs?

AB effects look cool but donīt harm hard targets like tanks. The blast and danger for the low flying ground attacker is the same. For the SC and SD bombs up to now I havenīt noticed any difference ecept the above mentioned spike. This had the intention to make the bomb blow up before it was digging itself into ground.
