Warning: Long Post!!!
A beautiful day in Duluth so Patsy and I went down to Sky Harbor airport KDYT, on the shores of Lake Superior! Met some really nice people who invited us into their hangars to see their "hobbies" hehe!
A few notes: The all silver-ish plane is actually a SIAI-Marchetti S205 (we all know of RealAir's SF260!) after I did a search on the net - I've had no clue what that plane was (for the last 3 years) until I looked on the instrument panel for the N number hehe. The DHC2 Beaver was being worked on by one of the kind guys that let us in his hangar. He runs sightseeing trips all over Northern MN. He also owns the 62 Skylane (and another c172 on floats) with the beautiful instrument panel (talk about difference in technology - anyone see the ADF near the bottom???) The small yellow kit biplane (Hatz) is made by a guy in Wisconsin, cruises at around 105 kias, stalls around 30 kias. N177JP used to be owned by Jeno Paulucci (think Totino's pizza rolls and oven pizza) but last time I toured that hanger (there is also a restored B18S on floats) it was sold to another company that runs sightseeing trips up to Canada lodges.
Enjoy!
