Downloaded...:jump:

Those who likes to have a visible crew in VC view will be happy, and those who don't will be happy too. As the Nemeths seems to have the habit to include both with and without visible VC crew. Thumbs up for that!

I just had the time to install and fire up a quick flight to see if all is well. Great looking model with a very immersive VC, i can't say more at the moment but it seem i found a replacement for the EC-135.

Will post screenshots later, but for now... :pop4:

Not sure what you are expecting, but I'll go take some closeups for you since I don't spend that much time looking at the panel. It does come in 2 versions, one with the G1000 and one without.

Funny, I am not a fan of this heli, especially because of the NOTAR system , but it's growing on me now and this one comes in 4 versions. I just spent some time flying, great looking and detailed model and easier on the frames that some other Nemeth releases. I am happy for the crew in the VC as that is what I have come to expect and want. I love the visibility in the VC and like the way the shadows look in DX10, might have to spend more time in this mode.

My only nitpick is the rotor animation, not fluid (as usual!), which is getting to me as that is one of the things I really liked about FS9. guess I need to spend more time in the cockpit. Couple of shots of the medivac version!

At last - Nemeth are back to a high standard with this one. :salute: If Carenado did helicopters they would do it like this.

It is superbly done with great textures and the flight dynamics seem reasonable but I have only flown a few circuits from the oil rig.

Nemeth have also done very well with the lighting systems.

I'd love to see some videos of this one in action. You know..interior, exterior and all around flight. A nice lengthy one to entice me to buy it. I want to., but the price is a bit steep for me to pull the plastic just yet.

$41 plus a few coins

Should come out to around $36 (paypal charged me $35.88), the U.S. doesn't pay VAT.

I'll look around for some videos.

$36..hmm. That's better yet. I must have messed up on the conversion. Didn't think so as I used Google. Oh, and I forgot about that VAT stuff.

The exterior looks very well done. Nice shots everyone!! It's the interior, panel that bothers me. From the pictures at Nemeths' site the panels looks very dark and unlegible. I could be wrong. But I'm real hesitant about it. That's my main reason for wanting to see some videos.

I never thought about trying Google for a video or two either. I'll try that.

Thanks Michael

Thanks for the panel shots Joshquin and Michael.

Having bought the EC-135 and fly that one around a LOT, I feel the panel of the MD900 is on the dark side. IMO there's definitely got to be legibility issues of lesser quality based on how close the shots above are in comparison. Even after looking at different panel shots of the RW helicopters I get the feeling of looking into a huge black hole on the Nemeth MD900 panels.

Granted, all the pictures from Airlinerlinersdotnet appear to be enhanced by the flash of the camera taking them.

Direct links edited to attached text file below.

On another note; Bigger textures of the panels would make a world of difference.

I used to think the same, until I started using the Russian Bloom Effect:

http://speedskater.ru/download/arccvid/EMBserie_for_MSFS.rar

Now anytime I look away from the outside and down at the panel the panel brightens and looks just as it should...

I highly recommend it.

It slipped my mind about the Cera Bell 212 until now. That's when I went and read the lengthy topic and viewed all the great screen shots and seen all the excellent paints available. Not to mention all the great videos. That's where my funds are going this time around. Thanks for letting me see the light. And save a few coins for my next purchase of a known Huey currently in the works :)

ryanbatc
March 26th, 2010, 18:54
How fast is the B412 compared to Cera's B212? They both look great but I'd like to have the 412 if its faster. Also can you start either with ctrl+e?

MCDesigns
March 26th, 2010, 19:06
As much as I like the 412 and the 212, the modeling/texturing in the VC, especially around the window frames is far superior in this bird than the bells. That is the main reason I don't fly the Cera bells as much, it's an immersion killer for me to see that. Having done a few aircraft, I find creating a realistic looking VC to be the most challenging part.

If the Nemeths ever do an AS 355 the same quality as this MD, I will be in heaven!

Could be a couple things.
In the [Lights] section of the aircraft.cfg file, the line for that light could have two "//" in front of it, or there is a typo in the reference to the light effects file.
Love to diagnose the problem, but I won't be able to afford this one for a while yet. :kilroy:

Hello Dain Arns - i have checked this - unfortunatly it isn`t the problem - for me the .cfg looks ok. I notice that issue at all 4 models, with or without crew in vc. For me it is looking like there is something wrong in the .mdl-file.
I think that it isn`t a great thing to fix - wait for some response from the Nemeth Bros.

Don't let that bother you. You're doing fantastic work. It's apparent that no one else is interested in repainting this one.

By no means am I saying I dislike your paints. I just like more from a repaint than what most care to do/share is all. The everyday blah medevac, sar types just bore me. I like the flashy stuff.

Is it possible that you are losing any effect from the alpha layer because you are formatting your images as DXT1 instead of the more common DXT5?

Hello gajit, thanks once again for another wonderfull repaint - i like the british Police-Helicopters very much.
I notice that your Belgian Police - Repaint has an all white alpha-channel - that could be the reason why you lost the shine. I have extract the alphas from the original Paints and saved them as .bmp`s, so i can add them to any new repaint. If you like, i send them to you. Please let me know.

Greetings :wavey: Dirk

Aha. A white alpha would mean that there's no reflectivity/ shine, as Dirk suggests.

The closer to 0,0,0 Black the alpha is, the greater the effect.

gajit,

What I do before doing a repaint is to open the already created textures into DXTBMP, click on Alpha, Export Alpha for each file.

By doing this when you convert them back (your paint) you can then Import them back into DXTBMP and/or edit and then save as needed. If I make sense

gajit,

What I do before doing a repaint is to open the already created textures into DXTBMP, click on Alpha, Export Alpha for each file.

By doing this when you convert them back (your paint) you can then Import them back into DXTBMP and/or edit and then save as needed. If I make sense

thanks for the tip :salute:

It is one in the livery of the dutch police. The order sadly has been cancelled, so this aircraft never made it to The Netherlands.

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks gajit - glad you like it - your paintjobs are very well done and I like them alot. Did two more - this time for the Police-Variant. The "all" blue one is used by the Police in Germany for a short time, then they repaint it to the standard sheme. The other is a simple one, whitout special markings. So it could be used as BackUp-Helicopter for Police-Department`s or Special Op`s in Law Enforcement.

I used to live on the eastern edge of Wool, so saw it coming and going from Winfrith at all hours. Now I live very near the hospital in Dorchester, so I see G-DORS all the time.

It's kinda like a film negative, back when folks still used photographic film.
Black is shiniest, white flat. Does that make sense or help? :kilroy:
That's the way I look at it...

EDIT: In fact that's how I start out on most of my Alphas.
I create a black and white copy, then use "Negative Image" effect. Go from there.

Hi Dirk,

in the texture.dorsetpolice - folder i miss the ndmd900_e03_t - texture

That is entirely intentional. The texture.cfg should reference the ndmd900_e03_t texture from the ..\texture.1 folder. This works in most cases. If it doesn't work, simply copy the ndmd900_e03_t texture from that folder into the texture.dorsetpolice folder.

Hello lep117 - yes it looks very nice but i am not shure that i can replicate the lines in the area of the backdoor - i`ll have a look at it later, but i promise nothing ......... Some areas of the model have distorsions that looks not good in my opinion.

That is what i mean - some paints look so easy and very cool on a picture but on a flightsim-model it could been a nightmare. I saw the distorsions at the austrian ems-paint which was included in the pack and i try a few lines at the kit and decided that i did it not.

It's looking real good gajit. Fantastic job :)

My thoughts whenever I do any repaints of that type..the riddle.
The challenge of complexity has always been my drive. How the model is mapped, that can be the true test of patience. The more detailed the paint, the more gratifying the end results when I conquer it.
