The effect was included in the download and not forgotten.

Phantom, would you mind doing a little experiment for me?

Try flying the airplane at twilight and then fire the guns.

While flying at twilight were you able to see a very, very thin (minute) stream of tracer bullets? If you did see them, it doesn't mean the problem is solved because the tracers should be larger :blind:; however, it may give us a better clue as to what to do next.

Thank you.

Yes the tracers should be seen during the day too.
Okay, it's back to the drawing board to see what
may be done to improve it.

Thanks for helping Pete,

Cliff ;)

Hello

An additional remark...since you are working on the tracers would it be possible to get empty shells dropping from the plane as well?

Thanks and keep up that great work!

Uwe

Not that it's critical, but add me to the list of folks without visible tracers.

Uwe,

Sorry but that's a 'No-Can-Do' on a Sabre. All spent .50-caliber ammunition cases and links
were ejected into special containers housed in the lower section of the forward fuselage just
under the machine guns.

Brent,

There is a fix for that.

First, right click and 'save target as' to download the bitmap below:

http://sectionf8.com/f86files/fx_tracerc.bmp (http://sectionf8.com/f86files/fx_tracerc.bmp)

Next, go to the Main FS9 Effects folder and open it up. Inside you will see a yellow 'texture' file.
Open the file and paste the fx_tracerc.bmp into it. Should one already be in the file just overwrite it.

That's it.

;)
