I d' like to have a second install on the same 'puter. I understand that one needs to rename the first fs9.exe to allow the new one to be accepted on the HD.

Is there other tricks to know to minimize the cumbersome name changing process (including the config files)when using one of the two installs ? A tutorial somewhere ?

thanks in advance

PS the disparition of older files by the recent hack is a real pain...

Best way is to follow the 'Golden Wings' tutorial.

The renaming of the fs9.exe is the key, you can use 'Alaskafs9.exe' for example, the only irritation comes when certain programe installer (such as any WoP product) insists on looking for fs9.exe and refuses an alternative.
Easily worked around by keeping a copy of your original fs9.exe in a backup folder and switching it with your re-named version.

Dominique,

In the Golden Wings installation instruction you can find an explanation how to to this. (It just tells you how, you do not need to install GW3)

These instructions can be found at "The Old Hangar".
http://www.theoldhangar.com/ and more specifically here: http://www.goldenwings.info/

Despite the warnings, it is actulaay quite simple, as even I could do it ;)

Success,
Huub

thanks both of you will go there. The main problem I have had so far is juggling with the fs9.cfg.
