OK folks not spam or a scam to get personal credit info but it is good marketing. O&O defrag and several of their other utilities are avaliable for free from the VENDOR site. Yes you do have to register and give them a valid eMail address to get the product key, but they are asking for very little information and they are providing full versions of the products. I know many of our members have used O&O and I have never seen a bad comment so I am giving it a go myself, and figure I will FYI this to the members of this community.

BTW what is being offered is the previous version of the apps not the newest - now you can see the marketing angle, which is a very good idea IMHO.

Here is the link where I found the announcement, it will direct you to the registration and downloads for the free offers.

O&O defrag is one of the best tools!

Use it "sort by name" and it'll make FS9 load up so quick...no stutters..etc.

Reported Attack Page!

This web page at dl10.filekicker.net has been reported as an attack page and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

Attack pages try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.

Some attack pages intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners.I checked the hash numbers of the files and they match the OO site so they should be safe.

Just got the Defrag and Clever Cashe and have them installed. Looks good so far. :d

Defrag is doing both C and F Drives at the same time..... and is very through. I like em both.

Maybe Clever Cashe will help with playing X3TC AMS, and fix the locking up of it.

Thanks for the heads up Mike. :ernae:

However a caution there has been a hack attack on the site. I just checked it still shows up as an attack site on the O&O 11 download not the free license area

Only do this when you're not at the computer as it takes a long time. I generally use the SPACE mode defrag for faster defrag, but I also keep it on Auto-Defrag and it does a good job at defragging on the fly unless one loads something big like Obrx FTX-PNW or REX, then it's better to do a separate defrag and a SPACE defrag at night or when one sleeps.

I have been using O * O since Version 8.0. I have a payware Version 11.0 now, may opt for 12.0 later. Enjoy.

Dave, make sure you have downloaded and installed the correct version. I made the mistake once of downloading the 32-bit version for my 64-bit Vista, so make sure you have the correct version.

Dave which version did you download, they offer both the 32 and 64, so if you tried the 32, go get the other version and try it, I have Ver 11 running on Win 7 64.

I originally down loaded the 32 bit system forgetting that this laptop is a 64 bit system. Then I down loaded the 64 bit system and tried to install it and it told me

2292

So I just installed the 32 bit system on my XP machine its my Gaming rig anyway.

Make sure you read the privacy policy on this one before you accept it.

Apparently you give a hell of a lot of information to O&O.
