With the Greek Islands hoplist up now, just wondering what's out there freeware-wise for that area.

When in doubt, always check this site; http://walhalla.mine.nu/fs2004.php

There is 76m mesh for FSX and 38m mesh for FS9. FS9 mesh will work in FSX, even though it is probably single LOD. But even at that, if the 38m FS9 works with the 76m FSX you have a pretty good display opportunity.

Never tried the above, so YMMV.

The HST has done wonders in FS9, totally transforming the country and all airports. Unfortunately they have not worked at all in FSX and all we have for our country is the mesh. I have UTX Europe which works very well for Greek landclass in the mainland but not very well in the Aegean Sea islands which show greeneer than they should be. The same applies to GEX Eu which I applied and has done wonders for the mainland and the western islands but not so much in the Aegean. I wish we had some custom landclass.

yeah being from Kos i can testify it ain't that green on the island, only thing really green on Kos is Mt.Dikeos and the olive groves... Dimus buddy, Τι κάνεις.

another key think missing from Kos is the salt lake next to Tigaki... sorry :icon_lol: anyhow, back to flying the C-47 round greece, then at 1600 today i launch on another border Patrol with the neighbour from hell :a1310:

Yea, I found the FSX Mesh on the "Hella Project" site and yes, that area could do with some nice custom landclass.

Γεια χαρα smoothie. All is fine here. We're broke but don't let that small detail get to us or we'd go mad.:jump:

Just saw your Avatar mate. Red Force ain't doing that well this year huh? I happen to be on the other (green) side by birth as I grew up next to Leoforos but it kind of felt good to see your avatar. I work close to Karaiskaki so I can say I have a little bit of both, if that is ever possible.:icon_lol:

For non-Greeks I'm talking football so all above is OT, apologies.

I really wish HST would start working on FSX too.

I remmeber Toni Agramont having made a scenery for the whole country, say towns and objects like harbors, etc...

Or was that just Crete?

Diimus thats just one of the many patches in my collection of HAF patches, i'm more of an AEK fan myself :icon_lol: Yellow Team :icon_lol:

back on track...

Falcon... fancy going and putting the salt lake back on Kos :icon_lol: theres some nice little strips in greece, a lot of which do get overlooked, usually the ultralight clubs and helipads, another thing i've not spotted in fsx... the Rion-Antirion bridge, she's a beauty, especially at night... and theres an ultralight/light aviation field nearby if i recall...

Edit.... this is an overhead of Kos.... the Dolphin Isle, clearly visible is the salt lake next to Tigaki (I hate when people can't spell it right, Tingaki don't exist, tigaki is spelt in greek with a single 'gamma' not double, double 'gamma' creates a 'ng' sound)... the mount (Mount Dikeos) as i said is really the only thing thats green, along with the headland by Kefalos, the remainder.... mostly olive groves... my main base in FSX is Kos, all i ever do is tour the neighbouring isles...
